La Costa de Papito was a dream come true.
From the moment we arrived we were thrilled with everything from the grounds to the service to the food.
We arrived at night and the grounds were lit so nicely. The reception staff was kind and patient (we were tired after traveling for 12 hours to get there).
We had a wonderful dinner in Papito's restaurant. The service and food were top notch, the presentation was always beautiful with fresh flowers on your plate. Our waiter Peter was so nice we all became friends by the end of our trip (there were 4 of us traveling together). Please if you go tell Peter that Amy, Cassandra, Shonna and Rene send their love. The bartender was Martin, if you ask him for a banana daquiri he will have to go to the far end of the restaurant and pick the banana's from the stalk hanging in the corner. I got the giggles everytime we made him do that.
We were in bungalow #7 which is very close to the main building, we were a little worried it would be to loud, or we would be to loud, but it was not a problem at all. We spent most nights on the large porch and other than the mosquitos the atmosphere was peaceful and quiet.
The reception staff were very helpful with all of our millions of questions and rentals and calls for taxi's and questions about the bus schedule. They didn't even get irritated with us when we left our bunglow key with them EVERY TIME we left. (We were afraid to lose it.)
We had massages at the Pure Jungle Spa, I highly recommend this experience, the girls are fun and the experience is relaxing and peaceful. If you get sunburned, try the Carribean Cooler, it will take the sting right out. Be sure to call ahead or stop by to make reservations early, they are usually booked a day in advance.
I highly recommend ordering breakfast delivered to your bungalow, it was a great way to wake up in the morning and the food, we ended up trying everything on the menu by the time we left, was always exceptional.
I could go on and on, we had such a great time, but let me just say, we checked out other places to stay for the next trip and let me reassure anyone who is wavering on where to stay... You WANT to stay at La Costa de Papito, if you don't you aren't staying at the best place around.
