Owner description: Get your Pura Vida... wet! Join us for near and/or offshore fishing, dolphin and snorkeling trips, a sunset tour, or a booze cruise. Whether you're a hard core fisherman/woman, or just want to get on the water, we will work with you to design the best trip possible. All trips include fresh tropical fruits, cold drinks (water and something harder) and the exclusive Wahoo cookies. Tours over 4 hours include sandwiches and vegies. Our captain, Pino, was born and raised in Puerto Viejo. He knows the southern Caribe like you know your living room... it is his living room. He will delight you with his humor as he coaches you in the ways of traditional line fishing. If the water's right, he'll dive and find you a langosta for dinner. Rods, reels, bait and tackle included, as well as snorkeling equipment. Boat equipped with GPS, fishfinder, bimini top, fresh water shower, and PFD's. Find us on the beach across from The Parquecito and Tex Mex in Puerto Viejo. Put the Wahoo in your Costa Rica vacation!

My family and I (the children are actually in their thirties, but there isn't a category for that!) took a half day trip to fish and snorkel. Janet and Captain Pino were cheerful and very helpful. Pino was always keeping an eye out for us, making sure all was well. My husband, the avid fisherman, caught some good fighting fish while our daughters tanned in the bow. Janet brought home made sandwiches and cookies, along with cut up veggies and plenty of beer. When it came time for snorkeling (my favorite thing), we anchored in a deserted inlet along the Manzanillo nature preserve and snorkeled in calm waters with endless reefs. I followed Captain Pino around as he dived for octopus and lobster. Janet and Captain Pino couldn't have been better. We had a completely memorable day.

Captain Pino plus owners Janet & Nick know a thing or two about having fun on the water and use that knowledge and enthusiasm to give their guests a fantastic day at sea.
From the moment we stepped on their comfortable boat it was obvious it would be a day to remember... seeing the Caribbean coast from the water is a new perspective and stunningly beautiful.
Captain Pino knows all the spots so you sail past uninhabited islands and hidden coves spotting the wildlife. With a little luck you may come across a school of Dolphins ... we were suddenly surrounded by about 30 of them, dipping and playing around the boat. Magical.
On board there was fresh fruit on hand, handmade flapjacks, plenty to drink and of course a chance to try your hand at line fishing... and the chance of catching something small is big! Then time for a refreshing and fun dip in the ocean...
On a hot day it's hard to think of a cooler way to spend it and Captain Pino, Janet & Nick are superb hosts. I would just say 'Do it' because you will love it!

We were invited by some friends to try out Wahoo Fishing & Tours for a day out of let's see what we will do out on the water.
Nick and Janet, who run/own Wahoo and Pino, their captain, met us by their boat and immediately made us feel very welcome. This was really "only" about let's spend some time on the water. The result was a nice mackerel, plenty of red snapper, seeing the whole coastline between Puerto Viejo and Candoga, seeing a group of at least 30 dolphins, having a nice swim, eating delicious fruit snacks and having a good Margarita.
Pino, the captain, is a lovely local guy who loves the ocean, knows his way out there like I know my house, pretty amazing with all the reefs.
If you want just to be out there, if you want some serious fishing, if you want to snorkel, if you want...they will organise it and I will not hesitate to recommend them to our guests.
Way to go guys, congratulations!
