Impressive is the only word I can use to describe the Maracuya ice cream! It is not one of my favorite fruits, but this ice cream mixture of maracuyá and chocolate is simply amazing! It leaves you with and exquisite mouth taste. A bohemian ambience, informal but nice and comfortable. You can also purchase a variety of handmade chocolates you don´t want to miss. The black coffee is good too. Closed on Sundays. Medium range prices. Highly recommended!

My friend and I vacationed nearby and had coffee and breakfast at Caribeans every morning. The coffee was fabulous, the service was excellent and staff was very accommodating and helpful. It's right across the road from the beach and the relaxing atmosphere created a lovely place to hang out. The chocolate tour was very interesting and fun. Well worth the time and money. You can sample the fine chocolate in the shop and learn about their chocolate "bean to bar" philosophy.

We took the 3 hour tour with our 2 young boys. Our 3 year old didn't understand anything but he did go crazy for the chocolate tasting. A great tour that started with Paul explaining a bit of everything. The chocolate history of the area, the process, the trees and his personal path to getting to where he is now. I found the tour to be informative and good exercise with a chocolate tasting reward at the top of the "hill". And the view is spectacular.
I really enjoyed tasting the single farm chocolate and what a great touch by adding the extra flavours for guests to play around with. Very much like a wine tasting experience.
Paul was a gracious host, who pointed out many things along the way, and even found an ant for me to eat. WOW! You should really add these to your tasting. I was blown away! They have really created something special, and not just for chocolate lovers but for their staff who work there and the model of how chocolate is created, and brought to market.
I truly enjoyed the experience and appreciated the boutique rebate for tour guests. Highly recommended.

Visited with 2 tweens and we all enjoyed this tour immensely. Paul is passionate about his vocation here, and is doing great work with local people with traditional knowledge, and doing his best to respect the jungle as well.
Informative, friendly, scenic, and delicious. A great way to spend an afternoon.

The tour is a great opportunity to learn more about cacao and the more traditional ways of making chocolate. You get to taste several different kinds from different farms across Costa Rica along with many different flavor pairings from sea salt all the way to ginger. It was a wonderful experience, worth every penny. They take credit cards too!
