When you're after a big, fresh tasty salad (which is suprisingly tough to find in PV sometimes...) and a fantasitc seafood pizza, PuraGula hits the spot. Laid back and friendly, perfect for when you're ready to chill and take a break from the buzz of PV.

There's nothing special about this one, but it's not bad or anything. If you are here to experience great food, try Jungle Love or Alice on either side. Seems a little over-priced as well. Very friendly owners though and good service. Could be cleaner, unfortunately.

We absolutely loved our meal here!... we went for dinner - it looked enticing from the road and was recommended by our BandB host... it's a really cute veranda-style generally lovely-place-to-be... both the Argentinian chef and the Spanish waiter (they apparently exchange roles each week!) were really lovely and made our whole experience amazing (right down to driving us home afterwards!) without interfering in our romantic dinner (despite us being the only guests that night (in the off-season)). Dishes on the small daily menu on the board (think it probably changes every night) were interesting and well-explained to us and i would have ordered any of them as they all sounded delicious. All dishes were the same price - this did means that while the steak was great value, you are probably going to pay more than you're used to for a pasta dish (ravioli homemade by a local italian)... but both of these were fab and definitely worth it! Would summarise as amazing food in a beautiful place with a friendly atmosphere.

We were there for dinner one night. Everything on the chalkboard menu was 8000 colones. Hubby ordered a beef tenderloin and I ordered sea bass. Both were just ok. We found the salad was way too big. We felt that it was to fill up the plate (but I must say, the salad was yummy). And instead of asking you to choose either mashed potatoes or salad, they could give you both in a small portion. The tiny piece of baguette that came with our food was full of ants. We loved the atmosphere and service was excellent but we didn't think it was worth it to pay $20 per person for the quality of the dinner.

We didn't know that the menu for lunch and dinner was different and went for lunch (which was awesome, but some other tourists we met had recommended the garlic shrimp dish which is a dinner dish apparently). The seabass sandwhich was amazing and the pizza is good too. All the bread is baked fresh at the restaurant and the food selection for dinner is based on whatever fresh foods they get in that day (so it's all super fresh).
