This place was perfect! It had all that we wanted. It was a little hideaway set amidst green trees and the natural setting of the Caribbean. Everything was super clean. Our sheets were changed every other day, the bathroom was left immaculate and the communal kitchen was great. It had everything. Full size fridge, a stove, pots, pans, plates, silverware and the basics for cooking... It gave us the flexibility to eat out when we wanted, not because we had to. Olaf and Kathie (the German couple who run it) were extremely friendly and helpful. There are hammocks, places to relax and best of all, it's quiet. If you are looking for a place to stay in a happening town, but want to come back to something more relaxed, then go to Vista Verde. You will not be disappointed.

Puerto Viejo is a beautiful spot on the Caribbean side of costa rica known for its exiting nightlife. If you're looking for a more quiet, relaxing spot, a little bit off the town center (maybe a 5 minute walk) then "Vista Verde" is definitely for you. Very clean, comfortable and surrounded by a beautiful garden. It also doesn't hurt that this hostel is very affordable for the area and has a kitchen you can use. Olaf and Kathy run the place and are very nice, helpful and fluent in several languages.

Lots of nature, adventure & nightlife around Puerto Viejo. But the Hospedaje itself is a quiet, very pleasant and relaxing place! A well-equipped kitchen is available for free use. While cooking, I met a lot of other interesting travelers. Good conversation and shared trips have come from. The financial benefit for my travel budget was only one of many benefits... I really enjoyed beeing in Vista Verde for a couple of days!!!

It's an absolutely peaceful and phantastic place to stay! A quiet, beautiful, comfortable and very clean B&B - surrounded by a wonderful jungle garden. You can just lie all day long in one of the hammocks, smell & see beautiful flowers and watching animal life passing by... colibries and all kind of birds, frogs, lizzards, butterflies, sloths and and and... But if you don't want to hang arround too much: it's located in perfect proximity to a couple of great beaches, rainforest, restaurants & nightlife - almost everything within walking distance. Cathy & Olaf are very sympathetic operators! They speak german, english, italian and french fluently. No question was left unanswered and they are always helpful, full of good ideas and humour. We had planed to stay only 3-4 days and were than a total of 9 days there... we didn't regret a single second :-)
