This was a wonderful way to see some of the Costa Rica's wildlife. The staff are caring, patient and love sharing their knowledge with visitors.

“Loved this place”
Reviewed September 8, 2013

Monkeys, owls, tree frogs, toucans, you name it, they help rehabilitate them here. Our awesome guide, Dex, made this one of our most enjoyable days in the Caribe Sur!

“Do not miss!”
Reviewed September 7, 2013 via mobile

I visited this sanctuary as I really wanted to see some monkeys and sloths up close. It was so heartwarming! All the animals have been rescued from either injuries or being orphaned. The couple that run the Jaguar Rescue Centre are so wonderfully passionate and caring about their cause, and work so hard to make a difference. The charity is non-profit, so all the money made goes directly back to helping the animals. You can volunteer here, if I had more time left I would most definitely help out but unfortunately my travels are coming to an end in a couple of days. I held a baby spider monkey and a baby howler monkey - an experience of a life time. I also saw many other gorgeous animals - don't miss this!

“Can't miss this in Puerto Viejo, Costa Rica”
Reviewed September 3, 2013

This is a "must do" activity when in Puerto Viejo...children would enjoy the animals in the rescue center...they look after injured animals, mostly monkeys, and let them loose in the wild after they have recovered...our tour guide Gisella made the whole experience an enjoyable and informative one...all the best to your efforts!

“A very nice walk and a very nice tour guide.”
Reviewed September 3, 2013

I enjoyed the tour around the Rescue center, it was simple and educative. I like the energy that flows around, its very congruent with the mission of the center. I was sad that I couldn't meet the jaguar because of he's tragic end but I enjoyed everything else, specially the freedom that the animals enjoy.
