“Amazing experience...don't miss it!”
Reviewed September 10, 2011

My husband and I are BIG animal enthusiasts so we knew this was the one thing we had to go visit when we were planning out trip to Puerto Viejo. The love for the animals is apparent when you meet the owners and the animals are all well taken care of. Their #1 priority is to release the animals and I appreciate that since I've been a wild animal rescue volunteer for almost 2 years now. The education they provide about the animals, their habitats and everything in between was very thorough and I walked away feeling like I'd learned quite a bit. My favorite parts:
*Being used as a jungle gym by the young howler monkeys
*Being followed around by a young deer
*Having a baby squirrel run up my arm and jump to the person next to me

Just fantastic!!!!

“You must come here”
Reviewed September 3, 2011

A fun and educational experience. A must stop for any visit to the region. It is a great way to learn about the inhabitants of the jungle that Puerto Viejo and the coast is a part of. The volunteer staff are nice, very interested in answering your questions, and in making your visit enjoyable.

“The animals...especially the monkeys were amazing!”
Reviewed August 29, 2011

The Jaguar Rescue Center was a fantastic experience! Being that close to baby howler monkeys, having them hanging all over you and swinging around you is something that everyone should do! The entire tour was very interesting and the volunteers are obviously very passionate about the animals around them.
