My wife and I spent 10 days in Costa Rica. Since it was our first time there we wanted to see as much as we could so we started in Guanacaste on the Pacific side for 4 days at a resort. Then drive to LaFortuna for 2 days at a hot spring resort and then 3 days in Puerto Viejo on the Caribbean side. It was all nice but the BEST PART of the whole trip was staying at Villas Serenidad. Our next trip to Costa Rica will be from he airport directly to Villas Serenidad. It was like having our own little slice of Heaven. Our Villa was beautiful and we could see the Caribbean Sea while lying in bed. We were woken up by the beautiful birds chirping every morning so we could get up early and have a cup of coffee sitting in our captain chairs facing the sea. Between our villa and the Caribbean we enjoyed looking at all the vibrant colors of the manicured jungle and watching all the different colored birds including several the humming birds and butterflies. After our morning coffee my wife and I would take a quiet and peaceful walk along the black sand beach and I would go for swim in the warm beautiful water. In the afternoon we would drive into town and walk around the little town and have lunch and walk around the shops. I can’t say enough how much we enjoyed just relaxing on our individual hammocks and listening to the waves hit the beach and enjoying each other’s company for you 26th wedding anniversary. We stayed in one of the one bedroom villas as it was just the two of us but they do have a few other villas on the property including a 3 bedroom which was huge and set up perfect to bring some friends or your family which we may do next time. My wife communicated with Karen before we got there and was very quick to answer all of our questions. The property manager Xoi met us there to open up the security gate (we felt very safe when we were on site and even when we were off) and was very sweet and took great care of us when we needed something. She even had a bottle of wine waiting for us to celebrate our Anniversary. We will be back and highly recommend staying at Villas Serenidad.
When we arrived at Villas Serenidad, the first thing I thought was "wow, this is beautiful."
The villa was pristine and open to the ocean air - a welcome space after our travels. You could hear the oceans a hundred yards from the front porch, and they had drinks waiting for us in the fridge. Talk about a good start!
We spent two weeks at Villas Serenidad. Every moment was special, mostly because Karen and her team did a magnificent job at providing us with recommendations on local restaurants, bars, surfing lessons, and so on. Town was a ten minute bike ride from our door (we never rented a car), and the garden we looked out (which was between us and the beach) was stunning.
We had such a good time at Villas Serenidad - five freakin' stars across the board! Thank you Karen and team for an amazing experience that will last a lifetime!
My boyfriend & I have never been to Costa Rica but Karen made it impossible NOT to go. She helped us book our shuttle from/to the airport, gave us ideal places to check out in town AND our stay was WAY better than we could have ever expected. I kept teasing her we were just going to move in. The space was tranquil with a view of the ocean and only a few steps from Playa Negra. We biked to/from town for the farmer's market and surf lessons. We made breakfast at the Villa & watched the sun come up every morning. It was the best getaway we could have planned - without having to plan much at all. Two weeks wasn't enough. We'll be back.
