Rooms themselves are fine, but in general lack some comfort. The beds are old, shower only has cold water, the parking space is through a very narrow passageway and tricky to get out. That said, the owner is very helpful (though speaks only spanish and some english) and cooks a nice dish. If there are a lot of customers, you will have to be patient to get your food, cause he cooks it himself together with his wife, with his daughter and son helping.
The place itself is a good stop if you plan to do hiking to the top of Chirripo the next day and looking for a place to stay. The owner participates in a marathon to the top so knows a lot about the mountain and is more than willing to disperse his knowledge. He is also willing to drive you to the starting point of the hike very early in the day.
If you are planning to stay several days, this accomodation might be less suitable for the old creaky beds, bad pillows and old blankets. Its ok for a one night stop though.More
