We loved our time staying at Centro Turistico Brigitte and after 11 days were sad to leave. The location is great away from the main town of Cahuita but near enough to come and go. The crashing waves of the Playa Negra ring in your ears and the wildlife wakes you early each morning. Howler monkeys, dogs and roosters - lots of roosters! Brigitte was welcoming and helpful and has built a special place here with her sister. We rode the horses and loved it and hired bikes and spent chilled times checking out the area and stopping to photograph wildlife and flowers. The breakfasts are great and the banana pancakes yummy.
The cabin is basic but clean and the towels changed daily and fresh linen regularly too. The porch is lovely and you can swing in your hammock reading and enjoying a cold beer whilstmaking friends with the dogs. If you are lucky the rather special street dog might even adopt you and offer you his loyalty for your stay.
The beat of reggae from the neighbouring reggae bar gives this place a relaxed vibe. It is mellow, peaceful and a real experience away from the hustle and bustle of life.
Thank you Brigitte. We'll be back!
