“It truly was a cozy cottage..."”

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this cozy little cottage. It was just what we were hoping for - a small home similar to what the locals live in, conveniently located in a friendly, jungly neighborhood, with easy walking access to everything we wanted or needed, like the national park, beach, restaurants, stores, ATM, and bus station. We even saw a sloth in one of the nearby trees, and monkeys passed nearby. The two bikes were very appreciated and fun to roam the small village and back streets (we would not recommend them for the major road as there are no road shoulders and traffic is crazy). It was a short ride to the Tree of Life, which was a pleasant and educational visit. The house had a great hot shower for after our bike rides. Cahuita had enough of everything - varied restaurants, tour companies, and a bakery that we visited for pastries for our afternoon coffee breaks. The cottage owner, Jackie, was most welcoming and very helpful during our stay. We spent a wonderfully relaxing 6 nights there and would recommend it to singles or couples wanting a less touristy, more authentic Costa Rican experience.

Liked best: The location. Sitting on the porch enjoying the quiet jungle atmosphere.
Liked least: Internet was available on a nearby comfortable bench, it didn't work for me in the cottage.
