“AWESOME!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 4, 2012

Easy walk through jungle to observe nature! We saw capuchino faced monkeys, howler monkeys, sloths, Green Basilick Lizard, yellow Poison Vipers, a whole family of tall raccoons with 6 babies, blue Morpho butterflies, black butterflies with red tipped wings! Great experience, lovely beach area for snorkeling at the tip of the walk. I believe you have to pay a boat to take you to the reef.
Enter the park through the town, and you pay a donation. The southern entrance, it is a set fee. definitely the place to visit to see wildlife!

“Peaceful, scenic, easy walk”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 3, 2012

This is a nice place for a leisurely, long walk to see the water (the trail parallels the water), enjoy the sounds of birdlife, and otherwise enjoy nature and fresh air. We enjoyed the land crabs and seeing the raccoons sleeping in the trees (waiting for people to finish their lunches). Remember that raccoons are wild - don't be a "tourist" - be very wary of the raccoons that approach. A man reached out his hand when we were there and the recently pregnant female tried to bite him.

“Secluded, Wild, and Full of Natural Beauty!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 3, 2012

We drove up to the park from Playa Chiquita for the day and absolutely loved it. We hiked the inland trail and saw more wildlife then in the rest of our time in Costa Rica combined. With the help of a park employee we saw two yellow eyelash vipers, a Jesus Christ Lizard, a sloth, Howler monkeys and White-faced Capuchins. The beaches were gorgeous and fairly secluded. We have just a delightful time at Cahuita and would go back in a heartbeat.

Walk through the park and eat at the delicious restaurant at the end before hopping on the bus back to Cahuita!
