We had to find a place close to the airport and was hoping to find a place with a free 24 hour shuttle to SJO. So glad we found this hotel! Comfortable clean rooms and beds. The Staff was very professional and friendly and The complimentary breakfast buffet was 5star! Wish we stayed longer.

After traveling through Costa Rica throughout the week, this hotel was a bit of an oasis. Very nice American style hotel with rooms that have two queen beds (harder to find than you think) The three pools were clean and welcoming. Since our trip was in May and it was off season, the swim up bar was closed all day on Friday - bummer. We ate at the hotel restaurant, Quattro, which was a bit upscale and a very good. We also ate at Hard Rock Cafe, which was nice to have right in the same parking lot if you're looking for comfort food. This is a great hotel to stay at if you have an early morning flight out of the airport. They offer a free airport shuttle. Would stay here again and would recommend.

I came here to relax but was met with stress. When we arrived we were placed in the wrong room which was not a big issue but we continued to face problems. The water in the room does not run well and the interior is a little run down for the price you pay per night. People were also knocking at our door constantly. Earlier in the day we went to the spa for massages and they charged the wrong amount to our card. This resulted in several phone calls demanding that we come down to the lobby and pay the full amount. It was later in the night and we were preparing to go to bed for an early flight. Paying the full amount was not a problem but the situation was handled poorly. We were made to feel like we were inept for not paying the full amount at first when it was not our fault at all but the spas. No apologies were given and the staff was very inconsiderate.

After reading all the negative reviews going about unfriendly staff and long gone glory I have to say that's not how it is.
I'm staying for a week and a day to attend a conference. It's actually good value for money and I found the staff to be attentive, friendly and helpful. The rooms are redone nicely, are spaceous and can easily be used as a part time office.
The only drawback so far is the remote location - you need a car to get to and from. Other than that it's a laid back place at the border of San Jose.

It is very adequate for those with business in San Jose. There is a good view of a volcano. The rooms were clean and comfortable. There is no outdoor space for lounging but there are parks close by. There are stores and eating places in the same building. You can catch the bus to go to the central market. Bus fare is cheap. If you are staying at a Wyndham in San Jose, do tell the cab driver which one since there are 3 in San Jose in different locations. Tours to special places can be arranged. The area is safe, even at night. I found the area safer at night than some UA cities during the day. Traffic is very civilized and orderly. There is no road rage or people trying to make 4 lanes out of a 2 lane road. There are some things done differently. For one, I had to get used to having to use the room card/key in the elevator. The hotel is strict on smoking. It is a smoke-free place. Check with the office about the internet. You have to use 2 numbers in place of the @ sign on the computer. The staff is good about helping on that.
