At first I was skeptical about a sunset catamaran tour costing $85 each but it ended up being quite a memorable experience. They do a great job jump starting the fun and played decent music and the staff was very attentive making sure everyone has a drink or something. Great chips and salsa on the way out, they encourage exploring playa huevos by snorkelling, kayaking or just hanging out on the beach or with a noodle in the water. It still had a romantic feel even though it was a party atmosphere. The water was a bit choppy and one of the rudders was broken so we couldn't sail with the significant wind but the sunset was pretty and we wouldn't have had as good of a time on the beach lounging. when we got back the boat that took us to the shore was covered in seagull poop but they cleaned it off enough for us to feel comfortable to ride back. I think this and surfing were the best part of tamarindo!

Please do yourself a favor and enjoy Federico and his crew. they really make you feel at home.
You will be on a sunset cruise from around 1 pm till 630 PM. They make amazing chicken, guacamole and other chips etc. I do not drink but it is an Open bar and they will make you frozen drinks too.

It is $85 BUT if you go with a group you can get it for $75, i think around 5-7 people, I did it with 8,12,and 7 people. You can find people to go, either way it is GREAT.

You will get to jump in the water. We got to see Dolphin and they were playing right next to us on the boat.

I got to go snorkeling and also kayak last time as well as tan on the roof.

Love, 3 NY Chicas. We will keep coming here!

We had booked a snorkel / sailing on their catamaran in December for a end of January trip over the internet and paid by paypal. We arrived at the pick up spot one hour before. There are no signs to tell you that you are in the right spot for pick-up for any of the tours there. I asked another tour company (Marlin del Ray) if we were in the right spot. He said yes. Marlin del Ray said they had not seen the Blue Dolphin all day, must be on a private tour. He tried to call them, no answere. Hibiscus sailing showed up also with a portable sign. He asked if we were waiting for them. We said we are waiting for Blue Dolphin. He also said have not seen the boat all day, must be on a private tour. He called the Blue Dolphin, they answered his call, said yes, they are on a private tour. So, In short, Blue Dolphin dichted us for a higher paying job. The man with the Hibiscus Sailing then offered to take us on their sailing tour and they said they would get re-embursed from the Blue Dolphin. We took him up on his offer. The Hibiscus tour was great. They took us to a cove with a beach for snorkeling and beach fun. They had a man on board that got in the water with us and snorkeled with us and showed us stuff. They had noodles to help with floating. Good drinks and food on board with great service all around. Note: make sure if you bring your own snorkeling gear they don't put it in with their own. Hibiscus: THANK YOU for saving our snorkeling day.

This catamaran tour takes you snorkeling and lets you see the sunset from the water. The people were very friendly and helpful. The food they served was good and you had an open bar the whole trip. Would recommend this, very fun and relaxing.

Thanks to Captain John and the other crew of the Blue Dolphin for a fun filled day. The crew was very friendly throughout the sail talking to guests, offering a variety of alcohol and non alcohol drinks, and providing a very tasty lunch. When it came time to snorkel the gear was in great shape. Although I didn't need the extra safety measure it was nice to know that there were two crew in the water, one snorkelling and the other floating on a surf board while acting as a life guard Watching the sun go down over the Pacific Ocean topped off the day, as did salsa dancing as we headed for shore.
