We stopped by this quirky little place a few times during our stay. The staff is very friendly and the bathrooms are clean. They even have a kids spot for the kiddos to chill out after you have made them walk through all of the shops in town. Food was great and it was a nice place to relax. One of the staff there named Victor also gives surf lessons and was excellent. He taught both of our son's and he was so good with them! Great experience!!!!

Nice little spot with friendly locals and good burgers. The owner takes great pride in his food and does the fries the way they should be, perfectly delicious. Very kid friendly with a special area of toys, play-dough, and chalk to keep the little ones happy. Clean and simple place. Didn't try the wings, but people raved about them. Another bonus, check out the ceramic and jewelry shops next door as well as the other locally owned shops right there.

Who ever thought you could find such an excellent burger in Tamarindo! Excellent food, service, and atmosphere! And save room for a shake or malt!

Hands down best burger ever!!! My husband and I had the western burger and it was amazing, salsa and guacamole were the best we found in Costa Rica without a doubt...ingredients so fresh. Owner's wife was there and very genuine and friendly, we had good conversation with her. Also made friends with their sweet weimeraner!!! A definite go to spot if you are in Tamarindo or if you are nearby...we drover over from Playa Grande just to try them out. Wait staff was also very accommodating.

With nine reviews at the writing of this review you can see that the surf shack is a new addition to the culinary options available in Tamarindo, however the owners are far from newbies! They are pub/ restaurant veterans and the cleanliness and appointment of the establishment as well as the quality and taste of the food show it in spades. Nothing fancy here, just simple food done right, messy lick your fingers comfort food in a laid back beach side joint.
