I spent our first few days there almost literally pinching myself. Charming, cozy, relaxing, and stunningly beautiful. The grounds open on to a semi-private beach (part of Langosta beach) with white sand, a gorgeous surf and tidepools. From there, it is only a five-minute beach walk to Tamarindo proper--just enough distance to feel secluded from it but offering easy access to all the tourist amenities when you want them. Breakfasts are delicious and the staff are warm and helpful. If you want to relax like never before, this is the place.

Everything about this B&B is perfect if you like to enjoy the tranquility of costa rican pacific beach:
- detailed decoration in all places (we stayed in casa osita)
- wonderfull open air bathroom (but private of course); although you have to consider a strayed crab fish or gecko)
- good beds with soft linen
- marvelous menu styled breakfast
- hammocks and beach chairs all over the place
- walking distance (along the beach) to tamarindo and playa langosta
- situated at quiet beach front with endless views and sunsets
- free usage of snorkeling equipment

Lots of restaurant in the direct neighbourhood, and possibilities to deliver to B&B

My fiance and I were privileged to stay in the honeymoon suite for 3-nights in March 2012. Everything, EVERYTHING we read in trip advisor about how wonderful this intimate B&B is and was accurate!! Staff: Awesome!! Breakfast: Fabulous!! Location: Perfect!! Walking distance to town and along the beach during low tides. This place absolutely drips of personality!! If you want a special getaway in a peaceful, romantic setting, you needn't look any further. I would return here in a heartbeat!!! It really is a very special place!! Doug B, Truckee, CA USA

Room Tip: All rooms had their own unique personality.

My husband and I just returned from Costa Rica and are still day dreaming about Sueno del Mar. What a peaceful, relaxing spot! Our toughest decision every morning was which type of lounge chair, hammock, etc. to sit in to enjoy our morning coffee while gazing out at the ocean. The entire staff is very friendly and helpful in setting up excursions, massages , restaurant recommendations (Dragon Fly Grill, Seasons) etc. and the breakfasts were varied and delicious The beach is beautiful and great for walking when the tide is out. You can walk to the Tamarindo beach in about 10-15 minutes where there are restaurants on the beach. There is no swimming in front of the property which makes it quiet with only occasional walkers going by. (No vendors!) Great spot for sunsets too! If you're looking for luxurious, this is not the place, but if you want low key, relaxing, friendly, and away from the hustle and bustle of Tamarindo, I would highly recommend this spot.

Room Tip: We stayed in Colibri which is a queen room. I would check out the larger ones if available.

My mother and I had stayed at the Capitan Suizo for 2 nights prior to coming to Sueno del Mar in Tamarindo. Capitan Suizo was full of kids and was not ideal for quiet relaxation. Sueno del Mar was absolutely perfect for what we were looking for.

We stayed in the Misha room which had a large queen bed and two single beds in a loft. The rooms were decorated in an authentic Costa Rican fashion. Nothing fancy but clean and comfortable (was the only hotel in our whole trip where we didn't find a cockroach!). If the honeymoon suite is available, definitely go for that! It has a great view of the ocean.

The staff are very friendly and serve an amazing breakfast every morning. People come from other hotels to eat here cause it's so good.

The property has great chairs and loungers that look onto a beautiful rocky beach. The beach is very quiet and serene. Great place to read a book and relax. I would definitely reccomend Sueno del Mar to everyone. Not ideal for families but fantastic for a quiet couple looking for some relaxation.

Room Tip: The honeymoon suite (not sure of the name) has a great view.
