Out of all the hustle and bustle of the main strip, there is a quaint beautiful place that a single traveler or a whole family can relax and live in paradise. Hotel Pasatiempo is wonderful! Literally seconds away to some great places to eat, and the corner market. Not to mention right off the main strip on the beach of Tamarindo! The staff is super friendly took great care of us! Cold ac, cable, and safes in every room! Definitely a resort-style hotel. They even offer an included full breakfast every morning! (SO GOOD!!) This place is also AFFORDABLE!! It is a GREAT place to stay, especially for the price! Trust me people, WE are winning here! :) Had a wonderful stay and WILL be coming back to stay here again, and again! THank you to all of the staff for making our stay the PURA VIDA way! BLESSINGS!!!

Room Tip: Each room has its own "bungalow" feel. The pool is in the center of the lush garden-like s...

Hotel Pasatiempo was exactly what we needed. Two college girls looking for a good time in Tamarindo and a hotel that could fit our budget. Cute, clean pool and awesome rooms. Very private and quiet, but steps away from the fun nightlife. Highly recommended!

The price is super accessible and the hotel is nice for the price you pay. The staff was very nice and helpful, and always gave us towels and tips of what to do.

What made our stay stressful were the French people who serve in the restaurant. They are rude and kept shouting at me and my friends (when I asked for a plastic cup, for example).

Other than that the stay was good.

I found Hotel Pasatiempo through this website and was so glad we booked there. Not only was it walking distance from everything in Tamarindo but the place was great. Staff was super friendly, the breakfast was amazing, and everyone was so helpful. Stefan was great in setting up our daily adventures and even gave us an amazing reccommendation for a local eatery in town that had amazing local food and even better prices. The rooms were clean, beds were very comfortable and the pool was refreshing. It was so nice to be able to walk to everything in town and know you were only a few blocks from home. The beach access was VERY close and we loved every minute of the trip. If you don't like loud music don't stay here on Wednesday nights though. The band plays at the bar until 1 a.m and they know how to rock. Music was great but if you are a early to bed kind of person it might be too loud for you. I would stay at Hotel Pasatiempo again in a heatbeat. Everyone who works there is amazing!

I finished my Costa Rica trip after volunteering, at Hotel Pasatiempo for some serious relaxation! It was everything I could have asked for! Beautiful area by the pool, with the bar and amazing hotel restaurant - and breakfast included - which was fantastic! My room was excellent, clean and comfortable. It was walking distance from the main strip in Tamarindo, but far enough away from all the night time craziness, that you feel safe. Reception staff, particularly Randy, was very helpful and accommodating and arranged transport for me to the airport.
The only negative was that the wifi didn't reach my room, but it encouraged me to stay by the pool :)
Fantastic!!
Muchos gracias!

Found this hotel on line, booked for 6 days and was going to another hotel for the following 8 days, but once I walked into the hotel I decided to stay my whole time. Very clean rooms, gorgeous tropical plants surrounding the pool and the 21 rooms on the property. Very quiet, no noises i.e. radios or canned music around the pool. Food in restaurant was very good. A short walk to town where there are 50 or more restaurants, lots of shops. two supermarkets and a bookstore. I mostly hibernated in the tropical jungle around the pool. Staff were super nice and my whole stay was great. Lots of activities if you are so inclined i.e. zip line, horse riding, mud baths, turtle watching, white water rapids - loved it all.Breakfast included!!

Room Tip: room 10 is right by the pool and lovely - simple and clean. Only negative is that on Wednesday night...
