I did stay here months ago. I did decided come back beacause I really liked the area, it is beautiful.
I did rent same condo un Sunrise with same property manager, in addition they did for me a package to stay in Langosta too. Good deal.
A little rain but great vacation again.
Service of the onsite propertu manager incredible. We booked several tours on their welcome center. I do recomend them and this place.
We will be back for sure.

All the condo's in this unit are individually owner, and the prices are all very
negotiable, do not overpay, we meet a lot of couples some paid $3500 month
other $1500 all for the same type of units. I would think a fair price would be
between $1500-$2000 not more, some couples paid as much for a week as we paid for a month, now knowing that, the pool was murky dirty, there were not very many
loungers around the pool and most were broken.
The grounds are okay nothing special and the stairwells are dirty.

There is an open sewage smell around the pool area, and the garbage cans were always ov erflowing.

We would not choose this condo c omplex again

We got an amazing long-term rate with the management company (RPM) & stayed in this condo for six weeks. That was too long to be in Tamarindo (for our taste), but we could have moved into this particular condo for the rest of our lives...it was great! So beautiful & luxurious, with ocean views, tasteful art & furniture, comfortable beds (one king-sized, two twins, & a futon), & a great functional lay-out & plenty of space for us, our two children, & our occasional houseguests (at one time, we had four extra people very comfortably for a few nights). The location is perfect--far enough from the main drag that it was quiet & removed, but super close to everything, including the grocery store, the (M&F) farmer's market, surf shops, restaurants & the beach. The wonderful pool & common areas are meticulously maintained by a group of friendly maintenance workers, & the entrance is guarded twenty-four hours a day, so we always knew we were secure & not vulnerable to the petty thievery that Tamarindo has unfortunately recently become known for.

We had read that Tamarindo can be noisy, but the only week we experienced any kind of disturbance was during Semana Santa--the only time all the units seemed full--and even that was just families having fun, nothing hard to deal with. Otherwise, the place was mostly deserted, with a few friendly Canadian vacationers here & there, & some quiet full-time renters. The units also seem exceptionally soundproof, as we never noticed a sound coming from inside another apartment.

A couple of things for families with very young children (like ours): the pool is perfect for kids, with a kiddie section & a progressively slanted deep section. Our four-year-old learned to swim here by venturing out further every day, & our one-year-old is even swimming happily with floaties. Sometimes, maintenance turns on a massive waterfall, which was always a source of great excitemenet for our boys.

On a slightly negative note, if we had it to do over again, we would not stay on the fourth floor, which was a little scary with two balconies, low windows, & a couple of climbers.

The only negative thing at all I have to say about our particular unit is that the kitchen is somewhat sparsely furnished, so if you plan to do much cooking (or especially baking), you will probably be frustrated. The basics are definitely covered, but since we were here for so long, we would have liked to have extras like sharp knives, measuring cups, & cookie sheets that aren't here & we couldn't find to purchase in Tamarindo.

I docked the service slightly because while our maid service was of excellent quality, it was a little erratic: we were originally told that it would be twice per week, then it dropped to once, then not at all; however, we simply called RPM whenever things got off track & they figured it out, so it was fine. RPM responded quickly to the minor maintenance problems we had, as well, sending repairmen almost immediately.

All in all, top notch. Highly recommended.

We spent a month at the Sunrise in unit 112, the unit was very nice, the pool waterfalls
stopped working the second week, the pool was not clean and too warm.
The maintenance people turned the filtration off on the pool at night, why I have no idea
no wonder the pool was dirty, it was so bad I would not go in the pool at all after the second week. Their was also a sewage smell around the pool that was a little unnerving.
Our condo's airconditionig was broke, and fixed quickly, the unit #112 needed a good cleaning, remove the dirty carpets (throw them out) their is too much traffic in these units
to have carpets if they are not going to be regularly steam cleaned.

All in all the unit itself was one of the nicest in the complex, too bad about the pool, Tamarindo is very hot, and if the pool isnot clean it takes away from the entire experience.

I would not go back to Costa Rica due to the extreme heat, we moved to a hotel for the last few days and the pool was so clean and beautiful it was a lovely end to a month long vacation

If your looking for a quiet place, this was quite noisy due to many families with small
children thinking they were the only ones there, they shouted from unit to unit, they were
asked to stop screamig for their friends and just go find them. so loud that you could not read around the pool when the families were in the pool

Thanks for your review.

First of all I would like to explain you that when pools get so much people as Sunrise's pool did in the month of January, it is neccesary to apply
flocculants on the evenings and this implies sutting-off the filtration system. After that you remove the particles and sediments from the bottom of the pool.

Also keep in mind that you came in the busiest month of the year. There was an all time peak of 51.000 arriving into Liberia airport and the complex was at a 100% occupancy for almost the entire month. If you were looking for a more realxing/quiet vacation it is obvious that a 52 condos (130 rooms) building was not going to meet your expectation.

Most of the clients come to Sunrise for it's great location, right in the middle of town and not because of being the quitest place in the area.

Thanks again

The Sunrise Condos are well situated within the town, close to beach and you can walk anywhere in the town within 5 to 10 minutes. We had a toilet that leaked and had to be fixed. The next evening we went to sleep only to wake up at 3am in an oven b/c the A/C stopped working. They came the next day to fix it, but didn't have it fixed by 5pm, so they packed up and went home for the day and left us to spend another night without A/C. We spent the last night with the windows open listening to dogs howling and swatting mosquitos. When we tried to get some money back for the major inconvenience, they had ZERO accountability. -----Regardless of this, don't pass up on an opportunity to go to Tamarindo.

I stayed at Sunrise Condos after booking it online. I was nervous because the pictures were so nice but it actually lived up to expectations. The apartment was nice with comfy beds, air conditioning, ocean views, and granite countertops. The pool was nice and clean with its own waterfall and security was 24/7. It was across the street from the beach. If you are going to Tamarindo for a week, it's better to rent a condo and also cheaper!
Also, Angelica, the property manager was willing to help us with anything we needed. We booked a tour and a car through her.

Rented four condos over Christmas 08-09. Great complex, well run, nice pool. Be aware all units are individually owned, so outfitting can vary greatly. Would recommend avoiding unit 41, deck has view of parking lot, no dishwasher, sparsely furnished. Unit 16 is a great penthouse unit, well outfitted, very comfortable, good view of ocean. Tamarindo is a fun town, recommend Eat at Joe's for breakfast and sushi, wok and roll has great pad thai.
