Love this restaurant - it's been a favorite of ours for 15 years! But this past trip we found it more expensive than last time and the fish tacos were ridiculously dry with no sauce but tons of cabbage. a little disappointing this trip

“Great food and service!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 4, 2013

Stopped in here for some delicious fish tacos on the recommendation of our surf instructor. Nogui's has a great beach view, and has been there in Tamarindo for a long time. Our waiter didn't speak English so fluently but was very careful to understand my wife's celiac disease (no gluten) and recommend an alternative to the fish tacos for her (they had flour tortillas) which she enjoyed very much.

“Best breakfast on the beach”

This definitely turned into our favorite beach spot. Try the Rotonda on the breakfast menu. Great drinks and smoothies.

“Great food & great pie's!!”

Great setting with colorful beach chairs looking out to the ocean. The food is priced right and good size plates for my hungry teens. Must try is the banana & coconut pies for desert, yummy!!

“great food and view, service was so-so”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 25, 2013

Loved the view and it was lovely to sit with toes in the sand and a drink in hand to watch the sunset. Get there early (e.g. at the beginning of 2 for 1 happy hour) to ensure you get a decent seat, ideally one of the chairs right on the beach. Our first visit we had the patakones (fried plantain with bean dip), which were lovely although they weren't actually listed on the menu, we just happened to notice someone else eating them and inquired with our server. Also had the shrimp tacos, which were amazing! Servers were friendly, but not super speedy (which seems to go with the territory - if you want speedy service you might want to avoid Costa Rica altogether...)
