Nice decor. Service uneven. One very helpful waiter who gave us the best touring advice of anyone in the hotel (including the incredibly unhelpful concierge). Others who disappeared for long periods leaving drinks unfilled etc. Food was only so-so. There are very few Costa Rican beef selections on the menu. I really don't need to eat here for NY strip steak - very silly. My husband ordered one and it was ok. The offering of multiple salts was amusing, but when my side dishes all arrived so oversalted I couldn't eat them it was less fun. I sent back several of the dishes. No offer of replacement. My Caesar salad with chicken consisted of two large lettuce leaves. Pathetic. The chicken itself was ok.
Overall not a positive: Although we stayed at the JW for 5 days we did not return to this restaurant. Oh - also on the expensive side.
