Lydie and Franck run a beautiful hostel. It's location is very close to the beach but on a quiet side street so is not to noisy. Lydie and Franck give great rates and suggestions for what to do in town. Showers are warm and the rooms have fans. Most of all it is pristine!

This place has everything you need to have a positive stay. The owner is Extremely nice, caring, and generous. He is the kind of guy you just want to have a beer and chat with. He also has the mentality that it is all about the costumer. The beds are comfy, the kitchen is clean, the coffee is good, and there is even balsamic vinegar!!!!
He is the cheapest place but also the nicest. If you don't stay here, you will wish you did!!!!

We traveled Costa Rica for 2 months and this was hands down the best hostel we stayed in. We stayed on 2 separate occasions for a total of about 2 weeks.
Although we came across some other great hostels that offered the same cleanliness and comfort none offered the same relaxed feel and friendliness. It seemed that the hostel was designed so that all the travellers chat and meet each other. I don't need to repeat all the great things that have already been said because they are all true. Lidy and Frank are awesome and I miss Pulmar already.

I was there with a friend, we only stayed one night in the dorms. The place is spotless clean, the kitchen is nice and clean as well.Very good location and most of all, has the nicest owners ever. They made our day. They are full of good advices, super friendly and happy people. It makes a big difference to meet such nice people. I recommend this hostel for sure, make sure to book it in advance maybe as they were full the first night we arrived.

my girlfriend and i stayed here for three nights. the location is very central (few minutes to the beach, bars, supermarkets...). we got a 4 bed room with two ventilators for us two. still it got very hot in the room (1) and early in the morning we were woken up by the sun (no dark curtains). the shared bathroom is very tiny but spotless clean. there's also a shared kitchen. we could park our car in front of the hostel. the last day we had to get our stuff out of the room at 11 but could take a shower after beeing at the beach in the afternoon, which is not possible everywhere for free. we really recommend that hostel!

It was the second time I stayed at Matilori within one year and I really enjoyed my time there. The hostel is clean and counts with a big kitchen and a nice little patio with hammocks and chairs where you can eat, chat with the other guests or just hang out and read a book. Moreover the hostel offers free coffee and WiFi.

The owners Lydie and Franck, a french couple, are just lovely and always up for a advice on where to go and what to do. On new years eve they organized a little cocktail in the hostel and brought pizza. As Samara is just a little village you can reach the beach as well as the main street with all the restaurants and bars within less than 5 minutes walking.

If you are looking for a clean hostel with a nice, relaxing atmosphere Matilori is the place to stay!

I just stayed here for 9 days at the beginning of Feb. I clicked with the owners immediately and even helped install a new wireless access point to clear up the spotty internet issue. I stayed in the dorm and spent quite a bit of time hanging out in the common area. It was a fantastic experience and I highly recommend this hostel to anyone looking for a clean, quiet place to sleep just 2 minutes from the beach. I'll definitely be going back. Cheers to Jeanne and Meghan for painting new signs to help everyone find the place!
