Bad points: they are constructing a new extension to the resort, it's a two hour bus ride from the airport and the extra excursions are a little pricey (as they usually are in all of Costa Rica). That's it. This place is out of the way - truly isolated in the midst of nature and away from the "US Florida Beach Vacation" atmosphere of Tamarindo. If you are high maintenance and need to eat your cheeseburger with fries along with your Hawaiian pizza then this is NOT the place for you. However, if you enjoy a relaxed atmosphere with friendly, helpful and welcoming people, a clean, well kept and new room with character (NO high rises at this resort), excellent local fresh foods made by a great chef (some of the best food I've ever had in the Central America and the Caribbean Islands), and a great deal of activities with excellent guides then this is the place for you. No need to travel two hours for tours. The local guides and tours at this location are great - especially the "Wing Nuts" Zipline tour and Andrey (also works as concierge at the front desk) is the friendliest and best instructor/guide when it comes to surfing lessons and ATV tours. This is one of the BEST vacations I have ever had. If you don't enjoy this place then YOU are the issue, not the hotel.More
