Alvarro gave us an informative, interesting hike through the Conservation area. Demonstrations, displays and field talks were all great. The snacks and view at the top of the trail were wonderful. This is a great way to get a little deeper insight into the plants, animals, and history of the local environment.

The tour was wonderful for getting a broader understanding and appreciation of the landscape and the people. Alvaro kept it interesting and engaging: who knew termites could taste good!

Well worth taking the tour to see great views of the beach and learn a lot about the local ecosystem as well as history.

Alvaro is a passionate informed guide. He is knowledgeable about the eco-system and the flora and fauna of Samara and Costa Rica. The views were amazing and we even spotted a family of howler monkeys. Kudos to Alvaro for his efforts to restore the natural vegetation and to preserve a part of the natural environment. This hike was an opportunity to experience more than just the beach culture of Samara.

Had a great time! The nature walk is run by a biologist named Alvaro, and the entire hike was on a nature preserve owned by his grandfather.

The tour runs at 7am and 3pm, and lasts around 3 hours. It's just a few minutes outside of Samara, so no long commutes either way.

Alvaro was extremely knowledgeable about the local flora and fauna, and gave us a great history of the trials and tribulations of biodiversity in Costa Rica.

The highest point of the hike was a hill that overlooked the entirety of Samara Beach, which provided a beautiful and picture-perfect view that cannot be seen from anywhere else.
