“Great food, great service”
Reviewed January 13, 2013

We ate here on both nights of our stay in Samara. The food was excellent, Martina the waitress was very attentive and even gave us a tip for our next destination.
There is also a Gusto bar/restaurant on the beachfront where we spent time during the days.
Highly recommended!

“Food is good”
Reviewed January 12, 2013 via mobile

The food was great . The service was good. We ate at the one in town not the one on the Beach. The deco is simple but quaint. The prices are just like monteal so expensive for the south.

“Two locations, both good.”
Reviewed January 11, 2013 via mobile

We ate at both the Gusto Beach and upmarket Creativo restaurants during our stay and enjoyed both. The beach setting revolves more around pizzas and salads under conconut trees while watching the sun set and the downtown restaurant serves much more fresh fish, seafood and pastas with something of a fusion between Italian and Asian flavours. The tuna steak was amazing but the beef Thai salad not really worth the money,

Both restaurants are worth a try for their own setting.

“so-so”
Reviewed January 10, 2013

We did not find this place to be worth returning to. Service was slower than slow (which is not unusual in CR, but this was REALLY slow) and the food was only average, yet expensive. 30 minute wait and 15,000 colones for a fishburger and a salad. Not worth it when there are many other choices on the beach.

“What's not to LOVE?!”
Reviewed January 10, 2013

We spent a week in Playa Samara, and our hotel was not on the beach, so Gusto became our second home. Their pizza and pasta dishes were excellent. We found the salads to be very pricey for what they were ... $12.00 for an Avocado Salad which was huge and fresh, but mostly lettuce and only 3 or 4 thin slices of Avocado, which is plentiful there. The atmosphere is great - lots of tables and chairs - lots of options for sun and shade. Get there early if you want to claim a beach chair under an umbrella. Overall, a friendly well-run place. Servers are great; service itself is a bit slow, but once again, typical of the area and the country. Overall, we really enjoyed Gusto and went there pretty much every day that we were in Samara.
