Description: Italian restaurant and Pizzeria, with large spaces and comfortable tables and seats on the beach, all under the shade of spectacular palm trees. The kitchen offers one of the most exciting interpretations of traditional Italian dishes, both land and sea, and a great choice of Pizzas cooked in a wood oven, accompanied by a good wine list and a wide selection of cocktails.

Excusing from the outset the very slow service which is indicative of Costa Rica, the waiters are at least friendly and eager to please. We ate here 3 times as the menu is quite varied and we never were given a disappointing meal. The best value on the menu is the Beef Casado. You get a nice steak, plantains, rice, beans, and either a surprisingly generous green salad or french fries ($4,000cl or $8US).

We tried this place on our first evening i Samara. The food was ok, not more. But the worst part was the non existing service. There are much better restaurants on the beach.

We had dinner here during easter, which is the time they don't serve alcohol in Costa Rica .My girlfriend had fish fingers, which were drowned in grease.. I had chicken breast, which was raw upon arrival. They took it back, threw it back on the grill and served it once more. I was not able to cut it with a knife. Additionally, we were attacked by mosquitoes.

Since we were staying at Locanda (great location and price) it made sense to try the breakfast (not included in room rate). We chose the Americano. Burned barely edible bacon arrived with dry white toast. No butter or jam available. Orange juice was "Tang" or something similar and cost extra. Coffee was extra. 13% service was extra. After five months in Costa Rica, we found the most expensive and worst breakfast in the country. There are lots of better choicesl
