wide, nice sand, nice waves and plenty to do in such a small touristic town. it gets busy during holidays...but it is a large beach you can always find some privacy if you need any.

Had a great few days here, enjoyed having beers, on the beach, watching soccer and volleyball games. Greta place to walk the beach, beautiful white sand and good place to snorkel and kayak

We stayed in the area two weeks (Feb/14) and loved this little town. Small shops line the main streets where you can buy sun hats, dresses, hammocks and souveniers, etc. Lots of choices for places to eat and very friendly people.

I spent three weeks in Samara, Costa Rica, January 2014; two weeks studying Spanish at the Intercultura school and one just hangin' out. The school is located adjacent to the beach which was great because at break time, you could just walk out to the sand or surf before returning to class. The local women sold breakfast and lunch which was extremely tasty and cheap. After class, you were right there to sun, go swimming, or just stroll. I am addicted to collecting shells and spent a lot of time walking up and down the beach looking for those special finds. The beach is large so you never feel crowded sharing it with other people or the horses or dogs running through it. Samara is a sweet vibrant beach town with lots of restaurants and activities. There are many places to stay and everything is within walking distance. Lots of restaurants are located right on the beach so you can enjoy your meal while watching the surf come in. Many nights, I would meet classmates at the restaurant/bar nearby the school where there were couches (yes couches) on the sand and we drank wine. One night, one of the guys from the restaurant brought out his guitar and we all sang "It's a Wonderful World". It did not get better than that. There is an active night life in Samara for those who want it - music and dancing and also lots of shops tat stay open late. You can get a massage from many places (there is a massage school in Samara also) or pick up a locally made souvenir from one of the many artists who live there. If you want to get out of town for the day, you can schedule a tour to do and see just about anything. But right in and around Samara, you will hear and see the Howler monkeys (they will wake you up in the morning), the iguanas of many sizes and colors and see all kinds of birds. Word of warning, the average temperature all year round is 93 or more - you are 10 degrees from the equator. Bring your strong sunscreen and drink lots of water!!

Well developed beach accessible from main street in Samara.

Perfect for long romantic walks at sunset with your sweetheart, and plenty of restaurants/bars right on the beach for a meal or drinks.

Lots of surfing schools if you want to learn how to surf as well.
