Highly recommend the Hideaway. Great location between Samara and Carrillo beaches. Quiet setting, definitely hidden away, though a short taxi ride into Samara town. Nice grounds with clean pool. Large clean comfortable room and bathroom. Good poolside restaurant. Very friendly and helpful staff. Would stay here again for sure.

We stayed at The Hideaway on our family trip to CR. We arrived late and were tired from driving and the manager went out of her way to make our boys an amazing pasta meal by the pool as they we hungry. The rooms are large and amazing with plenty of room and Clean Clean Clean!
Very well appointed with modern decor. We felt 100% safe and thoroughly enjoyed our stay the breakfast is amazing and fresh and to have it served right beside the pool was relaxing. We only wished we would have stayed longer!

We arrived without a reservation, and the manager was very accommodating.
All staff were friendly, efficient and respectful of the guests privacy.
We enjoyed the breakfast which was included with the room rate. Dinner was also very good, unfortunately they did not have any of the incredible guacamole other people have spoken about in reviews of the Hideaway. But we did visit during the off season during the rainy month of October; so that may be why.
The rooms are very large and sunny, comfortable bed, good TV reception and channel selection. The pool is small but definitely adequate for the number of rooms. Close to beaches and downtown Samara. We'll definitely come back!

This title may sound some what exaggerated and could potentially lead to follow up questions. For instance, have I stayed at enough hotel locations in Playa Samara to actually be able to determine that this location is ACTUALLY THE BEST? And, What entitles me to make such an a declaration in the FIRST PLACE?... Well as warranted as those questions may be, the answers would be irrelevant to the fact that this hotel is the best place you can stay at in all of Playa Samara. The location is quite and gorgeous with exotic scenery all around you. The rooms are kept cool, clean and comfortable however you will likely spend the majority of your time by the large pool area which is both welcoming and relaxing. The bar and restaurant next to the pool serve up delicious drinks and bites throughout the day and night. The staff are experts at hospitality and will go above and beyond to ensure your vacation nothing but enjoyable. In closing, you can not go wrong staying at The Hideaway Hotel in Playa Samara :)

I traveled here in the off season with my girlfriend. We had been traveling all over Costa Rica when we just came across this little Hideaway. We were greeted by the owner who just happened to be there at the time. This is a small hotel with large clean private rooms. I have to say, the best nights sleep I had in Costa Rica. We were served a full breakfast in the morning. Try the breakfast burrito with the house made hot sauce it's fantastic. The owner also gave us some great tips on where to stop to check out the sites. Don't know if I will ever make it back to that part of the world again but if i do I'm going to The Hideaway.

My wife and I stayed at theh Hideaway for 3 nights in late July. The nearby Carrillo Beach is one of the most beautiful in the world. And you will have the beach mostly to yourself. The hotel is literally in the jungle. Our room was surrounded by large plants and flowers. Monkeys wandered through the property and the pool was a a great place to cool off. The food was excellent. We had supper at the hotel twice, Fresh fish always on the menu. We ever did an evening trip to see the sea turtles laying their eggs on the beach. And the staff was very friendly and helpful. Could go on and on. Rated this hotel "very good" only because it is not a five star hotel. It is however great value.
