Enjoy your own cabin with a bedroom, living room and a kitchen. Relax on a hammock in the afternoon and listen to the birds sing! Walk to Playa Grande which is a spectacular beach to not only surf. You have to walk the white sands to appreciate the beauty! Sometimes you are in a crowd of surfers and the next you are walking almost alone on the white sands. Just spectacular. The area people are so friendly too. The Sol y Luna has a nice swim up bar with friendly staff and you are in a different world. Secluded and special! Try it. You do not always have to stay in the perfect hotel! Stay here. Try it...it is so nice!

this place is amazing and beautiful! we went durring the dry season yet the property was lush and green. 5 minute walking distance from the town and the beach yet still so secluded that you dont feel like youre part of some hotel chain. this place seems so secluded that even many of the locals didnt know about it and when we brought some back to our place to visit, even they talked about how amazing the place was! the service is great as well. the big boss Alex always had a smile and was always asking if we were having a good time and always was asking if we needed anything. when we did need something alex was always able to provide or to give us information on how to obtain what we needed. Alex and his staff were very courteous and were always happy to help. i loved this place!

We loved the very unique and beautiful surroundings. The landscaped grounds and the rustic, air conditioned bungalows with a nice pool for cooling off, are little peace of heaven. It's a short walk to the beach(Playa Grande) for swimming , surfing and amazing sunsets. Alex greeted us with a very warm welcome to his Sol y Luna Lodge. It was a great experience .We stayed 16 days and loved every moment! Sol y Luna is in walking distance to a couple very good restaurants and bars in the area. We took many day trips seeing lots of beaches and so much more. The staff are helpful, cheerful and work hard to make your stay carefree. Great place for couples romantic and family ,so very peaceful like heaven on earth. We loved it so much we are going back . Alex is a very good host every need he makes come true !! a great place stay in costa Rica We recommend to everyone you will be very happy staying here you wont want to go home you will feel your at home thank you Alex and staff your the best !!!

We stayed three nights at Sol y Luna Lodge during our visit in Costa Rica. We liked this place very much, the bungalows are very rustic and nice, we had air conditioning and enough space in the room. The place is in the middle of nature, so it is very quite and private. If you want to go to an isolated place away from the city life then this is the right place to relax. We had the possibility to watch beautiful stern constellations, when you live in a big city it is quite impossible because of the big lights. Sol y Luna offers a pool which we didn't use because in this area of Guanacaste there a plenty of beaches so we used to go every day to another beach (Playa Grande, Tamarindo, Brazilito, Conchal, etc.). Near the pool you have the possibility to use wireless lan. Since there is no breakfast included you should take some food or going out for breakfast. There are some restaurants in the area which offer tipical menu. Alex, the owner, was very friendly and helpful and always asked us if we need something.

We stayed at the Sol y Luna Lodge for 8 days in April, the camp is a short walk to the beach and you can walk to a couple different restaurants/bars. Its best to have a car if your going to stay here, especailly if you are surfing. Tamarindo, Playa Flamingo, Playa Negra, Marbella, Avellanas were all within about an hour drive...Tamarindo is about 5 minutes. The cabanas are nice, nothing fancy and the pool area is great, the property is well maintained. And everyone is nice. Alex, the owner was helpful and always around asking if we needed anything.

Room Tip: remember these are Cabanas not hotel rooms..great tropical feel

We loved this spot. It was rustic and beautiful. The pool area wonderful. About a 5-10min walk to the beach on an easy trail with surf boards. It is off aways on a dirt road and makes it so quiet and peaceful. I can't say enough about the staff. We are so happy that we stayed here.

We spent three nights here. It was awesome. Quite, private and perfect. There are two hammocks off the back of the bungalow where we relaxed when we had enough of the pool or ocean. The pool was 99 percent of the time just us, the beach in this area doesn't have many people. It was hot during the day but the AC at night helped a lot for sleeping at night. It's a short walk to the beach - maybe 7 minutes tops and you cross a gate and barb wire fence (just one strand so be careful!) We saw congo monkeys near the property. I would recommend buying food for breakfast and lunch to make with your kitchenette and going out for dinner. There are only a few restaurant choices in the area.

Room Tip: We liked our hut on the far end - the last one that is farthest from the pool.
