“Yummy fast $3 tacos on the beach”
Reviewed April 23, 2013

Once we discovered the Taco Star just a few houses down from where we were staying in Playa Grande, we never went anywhere else for lunch. It's just a simple food stand off of Las Tortugas Hotel and best deal for your money for lunch in Playa Grande. Yummy tacos with avocado, onions, jalapeno, and cheese, wrapped in a warm tortilla. Top it with a grapefruit Fresca or other drink--perfection!
Of course, owing to its popularity, you might find yourself out of luck in getting a taco if you go after 3:30...they can sometimes run out of meat (because it's that good). We also picked up fresh banana bread that was simply delicious.

“Best quick inexpensive lunch”
Reviewed April 7, 2013

We were so happy to come upon the Taco Star! Many of the other restaurants in Playa Grande are over priced and take forever to get served. This is a little stand serving inexpensive tacos, cold drinks and smoothies, and the best banana bread ever. We loved sharing our tacos with Ron the cat, and watching the iguanas playing on the roof. This is a must visit spot if you are in Playa Grande. We fed the entire family of 6 for under 30 USD.

“Great tacos on the beach!”
Reviewed March 30, 2013

A cute little taco stand right on the beach. Perfect for a quick bite to eat and a cold beer. The owner has fresh smoothies, veggie tacos, and meat tacos - all very yummy!

“Great Tacos on the Beach”
Reviewed March 15, 2013

Brittany, we enjoyed meeting you and the Tacos were awesome. This is a great little place for a quick meal and has fresh fruit, drinks and other snacks as well. Don't miss it if you are in Playa Grande. Almost forgot, Brittany gave my daughter a loaf of banana bread for her birthday and it was awesome as well.

“This place is Magical!!”
Reviewed February 26, 2013

Been going to Grande for 5 years. The Taco Star is my favorite (besides the waves) thing about Grande. This place is absolutely awesome. Right on the beach, great tacos, fresh bread, smoothies and ice cold beer. Jay and Brittany, who run the place are the nicest most positive people you will ever come across. They are great hosts and cooks. We go to the Taco Star every afternoon when were in town to hang out, eat, drink a few beers, listen to music and tell stories. This place is a must see!!! You can feed the iguanas by hand and maybe even get to see a monkey or two. The beach is RIGHT THERE. You can surf, walk up the beach and sit down at the Taco Star. It's incredible. It's actually hard to describe how magical this place really is. You just have to check it out.
