GReat Ceviche, causal beach dining actually on the beach-Out family ate dinner there 2-3 times while at Flamingo beach. Great service, wonderful food and the sunsets in the open air a sight to see.

The sunsets are unbelievable and the settings is muy romantic. We loved being able to eat by tiki torch with our feet in the sand. And, our kids loved being able to play in the sand while we enjoyed a leisurely dinner. Comparably, the prices were very affordable. The food and service....hmmmm....they were up and down.

The first night we had coco locos (drinks), the chicken/brie sandwich, the tuna tacos, and the ribs. The coco loco was pretty (it came in a coconut) but it tasted like any fruity drink you've had on any vacation. Not worth the money IMHO. The sandwich pleased the kids, the taco was decent (nothing special), and the ribs were old and dry. Tis OK. 2 out of 3 ain't bad...AND we were sitting on the beach. 40 minutes to get the check was a bit frustrating. I know it is Costa Rica time, but slow is slow on any watch, especially when you are holding a sleepy toddler.

For our second dinner we had guacamole, and two chicken/brie sandwiches. The tortilla chips were old and greasy and the chicken sandwiches were completely different than the first night (filet instead of shredded chicken and no caramelized onions). 0 our of 3 = boo. But, the check came quickly...AND we were sitting on the beach.

The third meal, we had the Loco Coco and the Sea Bass Tempura (they were out of the chicken, coconut shrimp, and snapper). Both were yummy, although the Loco Coco had only mussels (no parrot fish, octopus, or shrimp. It was almost 2 out of 2. The check took 25 minutes...BUT we were sitting on the beach.

Overall, I would say it is a lovely setting and reasonably priced. The food and service is slow....BUT, you'll be sitting on the beach :).

Walked to Coco Loco from Flamingo Beach Resort and Spa, an easy 10 minute walk. With tables right on the beach, the view is very picturesque.

It started well with a Coco Loco (coconut shell) drink for me and Miami Vice for my wife that were both tasty. But things quickly went downhill from there. My fish Caesar wrap was tolerable, but rather bland. My wife's ribs had a very odd flavor, that was not appealing to either of us. It Seemed almost like an "extra" taste that did not belong with ribs. She could only stomach a couple of bites before giving up on them altogether.

Meanwhile, I had ordered another coconut drink before the waiter brought the meal. The second drink never arrived at the table, yet it arrived fine on bill later when we left in frustration.

We were now done eating, the place was suddenly packed and there was only one waiter, whom we had not seen since he delivered our food. I never got the second drink and we were ready for the bill. After perhaps ten minutes, we got up from the table, hunted down the waiter and asked for the check. After about ten more minutes to get the missing drink removed, we paid and left. To his credit, the waiter did apologize as we were leaving.

Unfortunately, we cannot recommend the food or the service, although the view is incredible and drinks (if you get them) are quite refreshing.

Great little spot on Flamingo beach. Fabrizo brought out the best guacamole and salsa and home made chips. My kids liked the grilled chicken sandwich with Brie and apples, my husband had the tempura seabass and I had a delicious salad with avocados,tomatoes, and a little bacon. We will definitely go back to sip cool drinks under the umbrellas at sunset. A gem!

If you want the perfect place to watch the sunset ON the beach in Costa Rica, the perfect view, ambience, excellent food, outstanding service and truely understand pura vida...this is THE place to go. I have been there several times now and have always been delighted with the evening. The service is excellent all you have to do is ask and they are happy to accomodate you. Manfred in particular was so helpful. He was professional, helpful, had an ever ready smile and was very patient with my attempts at spanish.
And...if you want to add a little zing to your evening ...be sure to try a coco loco...served in a coconut! Share one or ..... have three..you won't be disappointed. :)
