“Beautiful and an outstanding value”

Having stayed at several resorts in various locations over the years, I will say that Flamingo Beach is my favorite. The beach and pool are never overly crowded and the staff is always friendly. The other draw of this place is that the prices are relatively reasonable for a resort. I find it's easier to relax when you don't feel you're being taken advantage of.

We brought our 10 year old daughter for a week long vacation to Costa Rica. We had an amazing time. Everyday I went for a walk on the beach, or up the hills and looked out at the beautiful views! There was a storm the night we arrived, other than that the weather was fantastic! Green season was not a problem! We went on the catamaran, snorkeling tour and saw 3 sets of mating sea turtles, had dolphins play all around our boat and saw mother and baby humpback whales! The sunsets are fabulous! One night we saw a full rainbow to boot! Carlos, Manuel, and Omar were extremely helpful and friendly. Our daughter was not feeling well one day and Carlos was so helpful with food and service. We had no problem with bugs or scorpions. I was actually surprised that we used bug spray only once on our trip and that was on the excursion to Vandara!

We only bought drinks at happy hour 5-6pm at the bar because the drinks are so expensive. Unless you are all inclusive, drinking at the bar for us was not worth it. We found the food to be good. The grilled chicken, salad and arroz con pollo were delicious.

Nearby, Marie's has a to die for espresso milkshake. Have to try that! We also enjoyed a wonderful meal at Angelinas. More expensive than the hotel but a perfect place for our last night!! Delicious.

Something to note, the taxis are very expensive. We figured we could take taxis to nearby towns but it was not worth it. $20-25 each way! Actually better to rent a car. The driving scared me. We used Xplore Costa Rica for our airport transfer and were very pleased! Safe driving and great experience.

The concierge service was good too. Also, their is a photographer onsite that takes photos during the day and during sunset. At the end of the week you can go to their office onsite and see the amazing photos they take. Quite affordable and some beautiful photos!! Don't hide from her :-)

Room Tip: We had the most basic room with two beds and it looked out on the back garden/extra pool. It wasn...

If you are looking for a quite escape, this is not the place for you. If you want a lively party atmosphere, you'll love it. Our family stayed here at the end of 2 weeks exploring CR. Our other hotels had been small and quiet, so we were a bit taken aback by the bachelor party atmosphere. However, we enjoyed our stay. We had a beautiful suite overlooking the beach and pool, and our teens and we had fun playing in the small waves. (No surfing here--too calm.) for the price and proximity to Liberia airport, it was fine.

Room Tip: Request a room with an ocean view and it should also be quieter since you'll be farther from the...

I recently traveled solo to check out several resorts and villas as part of prep for my training retreats in massage. This place was my base for travel but wound up being the best spot after all. The rooms are clean, the beach is right there, security there all the time but you don't need it much. Best thing I saw was the convenience of everything, huge pool, floating bar, lots of activities there and around the area. The vendors on the beach are friendly and reasonable. Sunset over the islands off shore unbelievable The most striking compliment though must be the staff. Everyone was very helpful, mostly fluent enough in English, and very appreciative of Americans and that is important to me.

Very comfortable, small to medium sized resort, fantastic staff, great food, great beach, great activities, great price. Everyone was very accomodating. The entire staff makes you feel welcome. Everyone is extremely helpful. Most of the staff speak English.
Did the all inclusive meal / drink plan...very much worth it.
Had the ground floor room facing the pool - highly recommend this type of room.
Location is fantastic and the beach is just gorgeous. Ocean Water Temp a warm & wonderful 80 degrees. Fantastic sunsets. Very safe - security pleantiful although did not seem necessary.
Activities set up by hotel were unbelievable. Palo Verde river jungle cruise, zip-lining, deep sea fishing, all EPIC!!! Saw Monkeys, Sloths, Parots, Crocodiles, Huge Iguanas, Colorful birds, etc. etc Wore headlights at night on the beach to see huge hermit crabs and tons of other beach & sea creatures. Caught 2 Rooster fish (70lbs and 40 lbs) and 8 Mahi Mahi on fishing trip in only 4 hours.
All in all...this was about the best vacation I've ever had. I've been to Hawaii, Mexico, Belieze, Florida, Fiji, Bora Bora, Antigua, St Martin, St Thomas, all over the Caribean and this beat them all...easily.
If you are considering this place I'd say ABSOLUTELY do it.

Room Tip: First floor facing the pool - best rooms.

A special thanks to our fantastic dining staff, amazing Alexandra, Rosarioa and Rosio...! They were awesome. A special thanks to Flory, the Concierge, Andy at the dive shop and Erik at the rentals.
