Amazing property! Loved the location. We can't wait to come back and met so many wonderful people. Must go to Perlas and sailing center.
We really enjoyed our (too short) stay at Delfin. It is a beautiful condo with a lovely pool. Very close to the beach, market, and local restaurants. We’ll be back!
Had a fantastic 10 day stay. Excellent accommodation, nice and close to beaches and restaurants all within walking distance. Clean and private - and very secure - condo.
The owners of this Stef Surf property are helpful with information prior to arrival. It would have been even more helpful to have a print out of the 28 pages of information in a welcome folder on arrival. It could be in a loose leaf folder secured to a desk or cabinet to make sure that visitors don't take it with them. Also, some information in Spanish for Spanish speaking visitors such as one in our group of three.
The apartment was clean, the kitchen very well stocked, the beds comfortable, the terraces outside of each bedroom really lovely - especially outside of the main bedroom. There was plenty of warm water. The extra bed in the living room meant that the rest of us had to go upstairs early to let the person in that bed get to sleep early; it is not out of the way. The stairs are circular with spaces which are a bit hard to negotiate for anyone with balance issues. The apartment is about 3km from Playa Flamingo, the more quiet, most beautiful beach in our opinion. We loved The Shack for breakfast. The pool is lovely. The caretakers live in an apartment on the property, which is convenient if a need should arise. The apartment was value for money.
Very nice house, well maintained.. we came with our kids and it had everything we needed.. the house is far from the "center" of the small town so you most likely will need a car to get around.. owner and house keeper was very helpful.
The rental was an Oasis in the middle of high season of Costa Rica. Property is well kept and the caretakers were very friendly. It was a great experience.
To start, the grounds are beautiful and immaculately kept. The condo is simply decorated and very clean. This was one if the few properties we have stayed in near an ocean that didn't have a musty smell. I attribute some of that to the concrete construction and minimal rugs but it is also due to being well maintained. The only thing I would have changed was to have it cleaned once during our stay as several days of going to the beach, etc. starts to build up sand on the floors even with using the outside foot wash liberally. The condo also had plenty of both shower and beach/pool towels. The pool is small but a great alternative for my 2 kids after a day out in the sun where they could play in the shade while we enjoyed home made pina coladas. A decent blender was available. Francisco, the caretaker, is phenomenal. He was friendly, helpful, and available. When we noticed some ants, he took care of it immediately. He was even awake and made sure we got out ok as we were packing up to leave at 4 am Saturday.
The area in general was very good with plenty of great near-by restaurant recommendations given by the condo owners. There are several beaches nearby, Flamingo and Potrero were our favorite for standard beach experiences. Potrero was only about a 3 minute walk from the condo. I recommend zip-lining at the Congo Trail and snorkeling at Conchal Beach. Although much more expensive, the Superman Zip-line for a mile at El Diamonte Eco Park was amazing. Definitely recommend a pizza at Marco Polo, Mahi-Mahi tacos at Coco-Loco, and a breakfast at The Shack.
We are now deciding when we will be going back.
As for negatives, we were there at the end of the dry season so the region was dry and dusty. It is also a distance to any of the volcanos and rain forests so realistically difficult to go there for just a day trip. Next time, we may set up a couple nights in one of these areas before going out to the coast. Food in the area, even the grocery stores, was a little pricey. The catamaran sunset tour was ok. We booked one through Lis on the Lazy Lizard. They were very friendly, generous with drinks and food, which was good, and the sunset was beautiful. The snorkeling was poor and overall kind of expensive. It was fun to do once but not sure I would do this one again. If you rent a car, I recommend an AWD as some of the roads can be a little rough such as the road to The Canopy Tour and the road into Conchal beach was "interesting."
