The Westin has a wonderful ambiance about it. The grounds are meticulously kept and everything is very clean. The pool area is one in which you won't want to leave -- especially that there's a swim-up bar there! All the bartenders at poolside are the best and the choice of drinks are numerous. Our room was very clean and the beds -- ahh, what a pleasure at the end of the day.
Now on to the food - muy bien!! The buffet offers a lot of choices from breakfast through dinner but there are also the restaurants, which you must make a reservation for, which offer something for everyone's palate. My favorite was the Italian restaurant - Italian food in Costa Rica - delicioso!
As far as the tours that were offered, we did one through the hotel but the others were booked through John Rodriguez and Erik Garcia (blue & white shirts), who are located on the beach outside of the Westin. At the hotel, we were "warned" that some of the vendors on the beach were not reliable but we found that not to be the case. The two trips we booked with John, ATVing and the Volcano trip to Miravalles, were both fun and the guides we had were great! So, don't be afraid to go and check John out!
Costa Rica is a beautiful country, the people are very friendly and one week is not enough to see and do everything you want. Can't wait to return!
