This is a great place and we really enjoyed our vacations. The room was excellent with a spectacular view to the sea. All the services provided in this Hotel were really great. Even in winter season, the beach and the white sand is really nice and not to mention the food, simply delicious.....

This place was awesome, my husband and I loved it. Great location, very friendly and helpful staff, BEAUTIFUL, lots to do but also very relaxing and secluded if desired. Service was really great until a circle k convention showed up with about 300 people ( hard to get dinner reservations, rides around resort, etc). The pool is awesome, but if you are not in the beach club area the bar closes at 6. Our room was much closer to the beach and the restaurants than the beach club rooms so I DO NOT recommend paying the extra money, unless your goal is to drink all night long. Most of us didn't mind the Poole bar closing at 6, because it is actually already dark by then and time to go to your dinner reservations. I highly recommend using the hotel ( especially Mauricio and Eduardo) for scuba diving but go see ERIK on the beach for all of the other excursions. He does the same tour as the hotel for a smaller feel and it's more intimate. He is great and he will work with you to pick the best day for your tour based on weather, etc. all his coworkers are awesome. We had so much fun with Rigo Suave on the Mega Combo tour. We highly highly recommend this. Best honeymoon we could have ever asked for!!

The accomodations were just the best with fantastic service. I never thought we could afford a week of adventure and excitement in such an awsome location with amenities that kept the entire family bonded for the entire week. We used Xplore Costa Rica for our travel and adventure plans outside the resort and we were in awe of their service, expertise, and sense of excitement at such a great value. We trusted us to book all our adventures as a group of 10 and specific adventures for a part of the group. We enjyed all the adventures such as a 10 station Zip Line in the mountains, 1200' water slide on the side of a mountain, hot mud application with clean up in the river- swim and relaxation in a beautiful pool with inspirational views - private luncheon with a truly organic meal with Costa Rica natives. Forgot to mention the short horse ride to the first Zip Line station. (this entire adventure was done in one day). Some wanted to go deep Sea Fishing and Xplore Costa Rica took care of the details and we caught a Blue Marlin, Sailfish, and Mahi Mahi. We also did several other adventures that were exciting, fun, and taught us a lot about Costa Rica and its beautiful people. This was a trip of a lifetime for our entire family including 2 Grandchildren. Our family is from Montana, North Dakota, and North Carolina.

Room Tip: All rooms were great, they were more like Condo's with 8 units to a building-each one on the cor...

My trip to Costa Rica, was a company trip for achieving sales goals. There were approximately 60 of us in attendance, and to my knowledge, everybody was very pleased with the resort. We stayed in the Royal Beach club, and the accommodations and staff were outstanding. We thought the food in all of the restaurants, as well as room service, was excellent. I would recommend this resort to anyone visiting beautiful Costa Rica.

Room Tip: If you are not traveling with children, I highly recommend the Royal Beach Club rooms

I recently stayed at the Westin resort in Playa Conchal. This place is too big for it's own good. Don't get me wrong it's a beautiful resort but there's a serious lack of communication. First, they had no hot water for three days and after that it was luke warm at best. They said it had been fixed when in fact it was not. It was the off season so many of there amenities were not functioning. They said they rotate the restaurants but in fact most of them are closed. We arrived around 6pm only to find out we could not eat because we didn't have a reservation, which can only be made from 8-4pm. If you have a late reservation, all the main courses are gone. They did not leave an activities list not one time when we were there. So we had no idea what was going on or what restaurants were open or closed. Any excursions that you book through the resort are the same one's (Erik who stands out side of the back gate) that you can book for about 20% less all over no difference. The same bus take you from the same hotel! When I complained the staff argued with me. So book w/ Erik! Sorry to say I don't recommend this place. We also stayed at The Royal Corin in LaFortuna, Excellent service and a beautiful hotel...

Room Tip: This place has a strange layout, there's a sort of kitchen area with a sink, but no microwave. T...

It is about a half hour from Tamarindo, about an hour and a half from Liberia Airport.

The check in: Awful. They are great with the bags. But they have a policy that you can not participate in the all inclusive until 12:00 that day. You also have to wear stupid wrist bands at all times. We first were given a purple wrist band so we could just use the services and would have had to pay extra for 2 hours of drinks and food. Very trivial. I doubt it would effect their bottom line if they waved this for people who just came off a long drive or flight. Then at 12:00 we received a blue wrist band but had to go all the way back to the pool to the reception desk.. why couldn't someone of brought them to us? Then we found out we still couldn't check in until 2:00 and would have to go all the way back to the lobby, someone still could not of just brought us the room keys.

The Pool: Awesome huge pool, tons of seating, animals (Iguanas, racoons, and birds all over). Had a volleyball and large swim up bar. The only negative is there was no servers walking around the lounge chairs. They also don't kick guests out of the pool for lighting.... odd.

The food: Make reservations at the restaurants at check in because it is hard to later on. If you try to call the restaurant directly you will never get an answer. The French restaurant was the best followed by the costa rican restaurant. The buffet was good for breakfast, but there was always too many kids around getting their dirty hands on everything. They should have servers, dish out food to guests. We never went here for dinner. The food here was excellent though. Tons of options. It was weird not paying for a sit down dinner.

Drinks: Top shelf and great especially at the reservation restaurants. They had a variety of after dinner drinks and decent house wine. The service and quantity was lacking a little at the places you needed the reservations for. Also not the quantity you would expect a restaurant you paid for. Deserts and appatizer portions were really small.

The beach: Poor. Very small beach. Only sat out there for an hour and went back to the pool. There are no waves (more like a bay).

Excursions: Book everything through Mr. Garcia on the beach. It is pretty much the same tour you would book through the hotel just a lot cheaper. Scuba diving was $75 cheaper per personand with a reputable dive shop. He can find you anything you want to do. I didn't see one person go to the actual hotel tour place, but out on the beach (you can't miss him) there was a buzz of activity.

Rooms: Luxary. Great showers, comfortable beds/pillows, free mini bar, house keeping exceptional. If you leave valuables out they lock it in the safe for you.

Price: We got an awesome deal of only $299 for all inclusive for both of us!!

Opinion: This is great for a few nights, but not the way to experience Costa Rica. Recommend going to Tamarindo and then here, or rain forest then here. You might as well be at the hilton hawian. You really don't get a true appreciation of the country. All inclusive is not my scene, this was for my wife. As she likes the luxury, and drinks by the pool.

Room Tip: Do not show up before 12:00
