“Nice hotel, cool pool with water slide!”
Reviewed June 4, 2012

Since we were flying out of Liberia early the next morning, my friends and I were looking for a hotel nearby to sleep for a few hours.

We found Boyeros through Trip Advisor. We were looking for a decent rated hotel at a decent price for four people.

We booked a room with two queen sized beds. The bathroom was okay.. the beds were decent. The outlets weren't the same as what we had in america so we couldn't charge our phones. :P

We didn't have this problem anywhere else in Costa Rica.

This place was okay, I liked that there was really nice pool there with a slide! I must have went down that slide three or four times until I got tired, and just went to relax in their jacuzzi.

This place was good. I liked it. The staff at the front desk was nice. Oh, we even had free breakfast the next morning!

We stayed in Boyeros with much reservation due to the previous reviews. Considering that the choices in Liberia are few, this one was just fine. We wanted a typical Costa Rica hotel for our last night before flying home. This place has a beautiful pool and is walking distance to restaurants and city activities. The beds and pillows were just right. We slept well. No problem getting and early morning taxi. We will stay here again.

Room Tip: All rooms face the pool and grounds. Off street is probably quieter.

Long exhausting flight from Calgary, Alberta to Liberia. Arrived at Boyeros Hotel and met by Mrs.Lisseth Brown. She was efficient, most warming and assisted in directing us to a local restaurant. Location is one hundred yards from the main cross roads for the town of Liberia. An excellent location for walking to the bus terminal. Well worth the stay.

Room Tip: Our assigned room should be renovated as there was evidence of extreme use...

We stayed here for one night as a stopover on our way to Nicaragua. This is what the Hotel is appropriate for, not much else. The rooms were reasonably clean, however, rather worn down and did not have a great atmosphere. The mattresses were really old, the AC worked, but smelled like a legionella-outbreak waiting to happen.
In the first room we got, the door wouldn't lock - how does the maid not notice this, wenn the room is being cleaned? We then managed to get moved to another room - but in this process the lady at the front desk flat out refused to speak a single word of English to me. I would have expected this from a small B&B somewhere in the countryside, but at a large hotel that carries "conference center" in its name, this is unacceptable.
Other comments:
+ Location right at the Interamericana, good to continue on a bus to the Nicaragua border
+ Fast food restaurants and supermarkets nearby
+ Breakfast included (in the 24 h restaurant), although it's not really much
+ Internet PC in the lobby

Very close to public bus service from the airport. 1 USD instead of 25 USD by taxi. Very helpful English speaking hostess at front desk during daytime hours. Aslo within easy walking distance of town square.

Room Tip: Ask for one overlooking the pool

My husband and I needed to find a place to stay for one night before travelling to Monteverde. This was a great choice. We paid only $70 for a room and that price included a very nice breakfast. Rooms are basic, but have great balconies that overlook their very pretty grounds. We didn't get a chance to swim in their pools, but they looked to be in good condition. Lots of greenery on the grounds which was a nice introduction to the flora of Costa Rica. The staff at the front desk are very nice. This was a better choice than the Hilton, which is a ways outside of town. We liked being able to walk around the town on our first night. The fiesta fireworks were indeed very loud and were definitely a drawback of our stay. All said, if you're looking for a cheap, convenient and comfortable place to stay for a night in transit, this is a good option.

Hotel Boyeros is a motel-style hotel just off the corner of the highway coming from San José and the highway to the Pacific Coast beaches. The main attraction of the hotel is its large well-maintained pool, with a wading pool for children, a water slide and a lukewarm jacuzzi. All the rooms face the pool area, which is very well maintained. The upper floor rooms all have large protected balconies with comfortable chairs. The rooms themselves are quite clean but are showing some wear and tear : for example the curtains are pretty grusome, the bathrooms need renovations (but at least the water is hot), the reading lights don't work, etc. There is a restaurant connected to the hotel which serves local and international dishes and is open all day. Breakfast is included in the price of the room but you cannot chose what to eat. You get a small juice, scrambled eggs, rice and beans, coffee and some tortillas. All in all, this is still one of the better deals in town.
