This is a great place to stay if you're an independent traveller with a rental car. Located north of Liberia just off Hwy #1 it takes about 30-40 minutes from the Liberia airport. A small family run facility with only a couple unit's and a pool.

Our 2 bedroom unit was more than adequate for our stay. Not a luxurious facility but very comfortable and the bed was super comfortable. A Huge shower with sun heated water was a great wake to wake up or cool off. Stove and fridge worked well. Air-conditioning worked good and quickly cooled the rooms off.

The best reason to stay is ... Eladio Castro the host. What ever your passion Eladio can hook you up. Surfing, tours, or just advice, he is a wealth of good information. He steered us to a private hot spring located up in the hills about an hour away and it will remain a life memory. This host is personality personified and a great guy.

This was my first time trip to Costa Rica, Using TripAdvisor, I fortunately stumbled onto this most awesome opportunity. "Eladio's Place" is an ideal hub to adventure from. Not a hotel. Better than that, it is a home away from home. Eladio, and his family, really made each family member feel welcome. Eladio was able to provide transportation, and excellent recommendations.

Vanessa, Eladio's wife, provided the most wonderful meals, with Costa Rican cooking. Fresh made tortillas, with local cheese made the night before, was a favorite. The fresh fruit and vegetables were awesome also.

When we had picked our tour choices, Eladio was very good about making sure the best available guide was available. In our case, one day was spent at the volcano base terrain, and we were able to observe the wild frogs, birds, and sloth, in their natural habitat. One day two, we hiked through another area of Santa Rosa Park, observing the army ants on the march, many more birds, and Spider Monkeys, and White Faced Monkeys, in the trees where they live, unconfined.

Eladio, and his guides, are excellent defensive drivers. As a public safety person, I scrutinized the generally aggressive driving habits that seem to be the norm, but our guides were always diligent. I give the highest opinion available, for the safety priority that Eladio places on his clients.

When relaxing at the casa, Eladio will drive you to town, or store, for any items you wish. One day I was able to send the ladies in our group, off to go shop. Eladio took care of everything, and I was able to relax at the pool. Thank you Eladio! The ladies were all very happy with the shopping opportunities they were provided.

This is a high quality, location, centrally located midway between the ocean, and the volcanoes. Each within easy striking distance of his provided transportation.

The house we rented on his property, is one of two, for guests. Ours kept four of us comfortable. The other, is for up to 8 people, and is two story. The houses are clean, and maintained with any needed items each day, or on request. The pool is awesome. The iguanas will stare at you while you swim, midday. After, the WIFI was a great way to send bragging photos online.

Eladio's is perfect. I HIGHLY recommend this hub for your visit. I intend to return at some point, for a week of surfing.

If you want to experience Costa Rica in its truest form, look no further. Eladio will take you to the secret gems of Costa Rica, far away from the tourist traps. I've been traveling to Costa Rica for many years staying at different hotels and going on various tours. Eladios's Place and his nature tours are the real deal! He will take you to the best places based upon the days weather, tides, etc. Whether you like surfing, snorkeling, hiking, viewing wildlife, volcanoes, rain forest, waterfalls, hot springs, Eladio knows the place to go. I will never visit Costa Rica again without calling Eladio first.

Eladio's vacation home in Liberia is wonderful! Our family enjoyed everything about the place. He keeps excellent care of his property. He has two houses, one is a two bedroom enclosed bathroom kitchen and living room. It is great for a small family or couple and it has air conditioning.
In his second apartment it would be good for a larger family and has all the same qualities as the first except that it's 2 stories.
He also has a nice pool and beautiful scenery.

Eladio and his wife are wonderful people! He is always willing to help and supply your needs, he is a great host and we'd be happy to return.

“The best way to experience nature in Guanacaste”

This place is truly a gem for nature lovers.
Eladio and his family take care of every need for travelers who are willing to experience the wonders of this beautiful region.
I had (again), one of the best times of my life here. There are in numerous opportunities to visit places in Guanacaste, including: Volcano Ricon de la Vieja, surfing at Rocca Bruja (Which's Rock), swimming at beautiful lagoons, visiting waterfalls, birdwatching, hiking trails, and so on.
After a few days, you feel as happy as possible - and after all, this is what we are all looking forward when we travel.
I thank Eladio and Vanessa for being wonderful hosts. I recommend this place for nature lovers in general, birdwatchers, surfers, scientists, biologists and universities.
I hope to come back many times.

“Pura Vida! Eladio's Place is the place to be!”

Eladio and his family are truely special people! We were a group of 6 between the ages of 14-63 and the trip was enjoyed by all of us! It was a very personal trip, I have left feeling I am not done visiting Costa Rica! Eladio's patience and passion for everything and everyone around him make him one of a kind! The tours we received were exceptional! Surfing, waterfalls, forests of all kinds, birds, sloths, moneys...I can't say enough! Vanessa is a great cook, the cottage was clean and comfortable, the pool fantastic! Gabriel and Lucia are great kids, we loved watching them in the pool. Luna the toy poodle was cuddly and enjoyed chasing the iguana when it decided to bask in the sun around us. We toured the Sensoria Rain Forest, amazing! That evening Eladio and I went grocery shopping, the owner called us to inquire about the tour and I spoke with him directly. Very personal! Eladio is known all around and is very well liked! I have to mention Hugo our guide for 2 tours, he is Passionate as well and very knowledgable! We enjoyed our tours with both of them! All the meals that we ate in restaurants Eladio recommended were very good! Anything you need, Eladio is there and trying to please! Our daughter is planning a trip to Eladio's for her grade 12 graduation, I am relieved to have her travel and stay with someone as safe as Eladio! He is respectful, entertaining and full of energy. I hope to go back! Quick tip, take good bug spray!
Thank you for the great trip Eladio!

“Trip of a Lifetime! Pura Vida!!”

ELADIO!! I cannot say enough about him. He was not able to greet us when we arrived so he had a English speaking host to meet us and tell us the history of Costa Rica and suggest some grocery stores and restuarants. Freddy was very knowledgable and ready to help. We got to meet Eladio and his family the next day and we were glad we got to meet these people in our lifetime. Eladio was VERY knowledgable about the country and the trips he recommended were interesting and amazing. All trips that we took were private and we were able to move at our own pace and enjoy our surroundings. Eladio took us on a private trip to Sensoria in the rainforest which was absolutely amazing. They greeted us there with fruit drinks and halfway through the hike, they had fruit kaboobs for us. The waterfalls were beautiful. Eladio also took us to Witches Rock which was a 7 km beach with only 10 other people . Amazing! Eladio took the the time to teach the 3 of us to surf. He was an patient teacher and must have pushed the surfboard for my daughter 50 times. He also had many connections with other people who offered private tours. We took a snorkeling trip with Mainrow and his son, they were kind and courteous and offered us snacks on the boat! They stopped and pointed out sea life to us and their equipment, masks, wetsuits, flippers, were new and VERY clean. Very impressed! Eladio also suggested the volcano, (which was so interesting and beautiful), ziplining, (which my husband and daughter loved, tubing, horseback riding and hot springs too!!), and several beaches. Eladio is the best host anyone could ask for and his property is clean, well maintained, and close to the highway. The cottage is equiped with everything you need and if not Eladio will provide it for you. He knows his country and is wonderful at what he does. Eladios nature tours are something everyone should experience. Eladio was also very helpful with information and directions. If you want to live with the locals, shop with the locals, and eat with the locals, Eladios Place is the place to be! If you want to get away from the resort life and experience Costa Rica without the crowds and tourists, Eladios Place is it!
I recommend a suv of some sort, the roads are very long and rough!
