After arriving at just after 8pm after 2 long flights-from LHR to IAH and then onto LIR, this was exactly what we needed before heading to Arenal the following day. The rooms were of a decent size, and the beds were very, very good to lie in after a long flight-one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in. The gym, while we did not use it, looked OK, but a bit small. The pool was very nice to relax in after flying and get rid of aches and pains, and they have done a good job with the pool area, making it seem very pleasant despite the close proximity to the airport. The noise from the airport was not really a problem. Breakfast was excellent, very good selection with some local foods as well, and the pastries surprisingly were very good.
A few things to work on and a few negatives:
Gift shop prices were a rip-off, but I guess that is no surprise.
Have more complimentary drinks in the room-not everyone likes coffee!
Considering the size of the hotel and the space outside, a Jacuzzi would be nice by the pool.
Floors were a bit dirty near reception

Overall, a good stay and it is very convenient.

Plainly designed for folks going in and out of the Liberia airport, this Hilton Garden Inn fulfills it's purpose perfectly. While not luxurious, the rooms and public spaces are modern and comfortable. The staff seems exceptionally friendly and oddly gifted at making towel animals. The hotel is in the middle of nowhere and has no charm to speak of, but it was just what we needed after arriving late in the evening after a long day of travel when we didn't want to face the hour drive to the resort where we were actually headed.

Nice hotel, close to the airport. Has everything you'll need, including an ATM machine ( tip- if you're from Canada, we found Banco National was the bank that accepted our credit AND debit cards- this is the type of ATM the hotel has).

Restaurant was good for dinner. Rooms were nice and clean. It was easy to find with lots of signs coming from Tamarindo area. Staff was polite and helpful.

If you want to see Rincon de la Vieja volcano, I'd recommend coming here a day before your departure. It's a close drive to the hotel and easy to get to. Great hiking there, but be aware this is real hiking... You are climbing over rock and through creeks!

I would exon mend this to anyone flying into or out of Liberia!

we stayed here for the last night of our 8 day excursion throughout costa rica,we saw an extensive amount of pacific coast and decided we would spend the last night close to the airport to make things easier, our car rental return was only a minute down the road so it made a good fit,the hotel looks like it is new,the rooms are amazing ,ours was a king suite,it had a very nice fridge ,microwave and desk ,free wifi, and jungle view, the bathroom is perfect for size and the bed was extremely comfortable, also had a good selection of tv channels ,they also have a very nice pool,a bar downstairs ,restaurant and small lobbly store for a nice bottle of bubbly, the price is very fair ,but if you book the room get the breakfast add on ,it is cheaper than having to buy it in the morning separately ,this was a great way to spend the last night, but hey you check it out and decide for yourself, you'll like it.

Room Tip: king room with breakfast.pool view or jungle view.

I highly recommend this hotel if you are either arriving late or departing early into Liberia. Rather than getting to your hotel in the middle of the night after a long drive, or waking up well before the crack of dawn to make it to the airport for an early departure, the Hilton Garden Inn is in a perfect location for maximizing your trip to Costa Rica.

Our flight was departing at 6:50 am which would have meant leaving our hotel at 4 in the morning. Instead we opted for late check-out the night before and had a really enjoyable final evening in Costa Rica. We sat by the pool, ate a very nice dinner at the pool side restaurant and had a very pleasant sleep before taking the 5:30 shuttle to the airport (only 5 minutes away).

The hotel feels very new, very modern and is very clean. It is a really smart way to start or end a vacation to Costa Rica.

By Costa Rican standards, this place is the Ritz! Rooms are nice, roomy and comfortable. The hotel overall is not super fancy, colors are sort of drab. But I would say comparable to a Marriott or something of that scale. Everything was very clean. I have no complaints. As others have mentioned, the food in the restaurant is decent, but over priced. We found that to be the rule everywhere we went in CR.
The hotel is far from the city, as is the airport, so you are pretty much stuck here for food and entertainment.
The only hiccup was, we were told in the bar that Margarita's were a special Happy Hour price, and when the bill came they tried to charge us full price. After some debate, they finally, and reluctantly, changed the price back to what we were told to begin with. Other than that, very good experience. Short ride to the airport too!
This was however, the most expensive night stay of our trip. Some people told us that there is another smaller, family owned hotel near the airport that is much more affordable, and perfectly adequate. Unfortunately, I don't remember the name. If you do a little research on the forums, maybe you can find out what it is called.

Spent one night here prior to setting off on our adventure for monkey tours. Arrived mid afternoon and found the shuttle immediately quick ride to the hotel and efficient check in. Rooms are on par with other Hilton's in North America (I've stayed at many). Pool was nice, clean and quiet. Had dinner at the restaurant which was delicious. Prices were reasonable and the service was lovely. Breakfast buffet was great. Made to order omelettes and excellent selection of other items for a variety of tastes. Would stay here again.
