I was SO thankful for this place.
I considered staying somewhere more in town for less money, but that would have meant shlepping tons of luggage and dealing with cabs from the airport and confusion when all I really wanted after a horribly long day of travel was something EASY. This place delivers!! Would not hesitate to use it every time.
If your flight comes into LIR (or leaves) either early or late this place is perfect. They make it so easy--just take the shuttle instead of dealing with aggressive cab drivers yelling at you as you exit the airport, and then they'll shuttle you back for your flight. Also, it makes the transition from the States into the country more of a 'soft landing'. You'll get A/C and a nice room and hotel after a stressful day of traveling.

Though Hilton Garden Inns aren't known for being super fancy I can honestly say this was one of our favorite hotels on our two week trip to Costa Rica because this hotel does it right - from top to bottom! The hotel is exceptionally clean and the front desk staff is super friendly - and their English is much better than my poor Spanish! We had a large 2 room suite on the 4th floor that looked out on the pool and airport across the way. I was a little concerned that we'd hear the planes but the airport isn't super busy and we would sometimes watch the planes take off from the room and you could barely hear them. We never heard any planes take off late at night or early in the morning. Though the pool isn't like a resort pool - there's no slide or infinity edge - it's a nice large pool and super clean and completely tiled with tiny tiles instead of a rough surface. The workout room has modern equipment that's with built in tv's and the exercise room looks out onto the pool and hotel grounds. The breakfast at the hotel is the best we had at any of the hotels we stayed at on our trip. It's a huge buffet style with regular American breakfast food and local dishes like gallo pinto and lots of chicken dishes - one morning they even had chicken wings. You can also get made to order omelets, tons of local fruit, huge cinnamon rolls and local cheeses. Breakfast is a bit pricey but well worth it or free if you are a Gold or Diamond Member. We had dinner in the restaurant a few nights and it was very good and reasonably priced. They even have kids meals like Mac N Cheese and Chicken fingers so our picky youngsters were all set. The hotel is about 10 minutes from the town of Liberia which is nice because you're away from the craziness & bustle of town and it's about 20 - 30 minutes from the beaches of the peninsula. The entire hotel staff - every single one we met during our 5 day stay was super friendly - especially the young lady working in the bookshop. She would help me practice my Spanish while the kids looked around for souvenirs. You can buy books in English at the Gift Shop and I was able to exchange dollars for colones at the front desk. And last but not least - the hotel has a laundry room which was very nice to have. Some hotels don't offer this so be sure to take advantage of it where you can. The hotel is a nice place to relax and take day trips from -though we learned that getting around in Costa Rica takes longer than in the U.S. because of the roads so don't expect to go to and from Monte Verde in a day. We made it to Volcan Arenal in about 3.5 hrs and El Rincon de la Vieja is less than an hour. If you're in the area I highly recommend this top notch hotel.

Room Tip: The two room suite is large and comfortable with a huge bathroom and separate half bath which is gre...

Right next to the airport and incredible hospitality. Rooms were very clean and recently remodeled. My favorite thing was the restaurant. We arrived late and night and were hungry for dinner, but it was after 10:00pm. The food was incredible. Fish and Chip were tops. Salad was fresh and had home made dressing. Red Snapper fillet was better than I've tasted in years. Service was top notch.

The location alone spared me driving late at night right after getting off the airplane. The is a perfect start to a Costa Rica holiday

Room Tip: Get a room facing the pool. Eating in the coffee shop is a must.

For a Hilton Garden Inn, this hotel was over priced and overrated. For $149 a night, we had to pay another $20 for breakfast and $40 for dinner since there were no other options. The service by the front desk was disappointing. Carlos was the shining star at the hotel. There were only a dozen peope in the hotel and they put us with a view of the air conditioning. Next time drive 8 mikes down the road to the best western, less than half the price and it includes breakfast. Disappointing Hilton. Disappointing.

Right in front of the Daniel Oduber Airport, great option if you need to take your flight the next day, just need to be aware that it is located 13 km from Liberia downtown.
This hotel really represents what a good night sleep is, the service is very good, the pool is really good too. The only bad point for me is the overpriced bar and restaurant, but the rest of my stay was really good. Would definitely recommend it to anyone.

If you are flying out of Liberia this hotel is perfect for your needs. Newish hotel with decent rooms directly across from the airport. Restaurant also furnishes room service and is adequate for a travelers needs. Actually quite good after all the casado you will have eaten. Free shuttle to airport.

We arrived late (10ish) from California, and were so happy to make it in time for the ?10:30 last call at the restaurant. Everyone was so nice, and we had a great night's sleep before starting our adventure in the morning. I would not stay here for my vacation, as it is very close to the tiny airport, but it is so comforting and quiet, after a 10 hour travel day to slip into a perfectly clean, lovely room for a good rest before your adventure. Great food, very nice people!
