We showed up at Amalia's Inn after a drive from the Liberia airport to La Cruz. We had no reservation, but thought we would try it. They showed us a couple of rooms, and we chose one that had 4 beds and a decent bathroom. Nothing fancy, but all you need for the night. All four of us stayed there for $40 (hard to beat that). We watched a spectacular sunset over the coast from the upstairs balcony and then had a nice meal down the street at Goal Restaurant. The next morning we made coffee in the communal kitchen, sat out on the terrace overlooking that amazing view of the coast, watched the agouties on the hillside below and did some birding. We were glad we landed at Amalia's.
