We loved our morning at the hanging bridges. We visited at the end of November 2013. It was a very easy hike to navigate. We paid for my husband and I to enter but our 7 year old twins weren't charged an entry fee. It was misty out but luckily it didn't rain hard so the thick canopy kept us dry. Everything was super sized - my 7 year old held up a leaf and it was half the size of him. We saw big, beautiful butterflies, birds, a baby pit viper, a pack of 17+ coatimundi and leaf cutter ants as well as a waterfall. I think it was about 2 miles and we spent at least 2 hours walking / sight seeing through this magnificent jungle.

But its a nice 90 min hike up an down a hillside, with hanging bridges 48 meter above and as low as 1meter . Besides ants and 2 butterflies and one bird, not much else, lots of very high rainforest trees . recommend MeuterMedia

We hiked the trail and were pleasantly surprised to find a beautiful waterfall! Before we hiked, I applied bug guard on everyone so we did not have any problems with bugs. There are areas along the trail where you can sit down on benches if you need to rest. The views are really amazing within the rainforest. I recommend this place to everyone.

If you want to see the waterfall....don't take the shortcut.

We enjoyed the hike. Bring bug spray, camera, and enjoy the easy trek. You need to wear tennis shoes and bring your rain coat as well. It's worth the long drive down the bumpy roads.

We visited the Arenal hanging bridges on during a recent stay in La Fortuna. We all enjoyed the bridges and saw a lot of wildlife! Views from the top bridge were great. Not too strenuous of a walk...took us 2.5 hours but we were constantly stopping to admire the views and look for animals
