“Awesome, simply awesome.”

If you enjoy hiking and scenery, then this is a must do location while visiting. The rain forest offers so many amazing views of plants, animals and landscapes alike. It was truly wonderful to enjoy this with the family. The only thing is the footpath is supposed to be more environmentally friendly, which I am sure is true, but it is not easy on the hikers. Walk with some caution. The bridges are a little nerve-wracking for myself, seeing as they only want 1-2 people at a time on them depending on the bridge...but overall, never really felt like they were structurally unsound. Simply excellent place to capture some beautiful Costa Rican photo memories.

“No guide necessary”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 1, 2013

Went on a rainy day. It was awesome. Better than La Fortuna waterfall if you have to choose.

There was a lot of people but the views are great, the bridges were cool (when not waiting for kids to stop jumping up and down on them). We didn't get a guide but had just went to Cano Negro and the zoo so felt we had some info on birds and wildlife.

Overall the things we did I'd rate:
1) Protectyo Asis
2) Hanging bridges
3/4) La Fortuna waterfall
3/4) natural free hot springs
5) Baldi resort
6) Can Negro wildlife refuge

“An Absolute Must”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 1, 2013

We did not have a guide, but thoroughly enjoyed the hike. The views are incredible. It was one of the more expensive places we went, but well worth it. It was not overly crowded and we could go as fast or slow as we wanted.
If it is warm, remember to take a bottle of water with you.
Bathroom facilities were fairly clean - and the snack bar had cold beer.

“Fantastic”

This is a beautiful and unique experience! It is an easy walk, and one sees a great deal of biodiversity. The bridges are wonderful. We did not do the guided tour, just self-guided, which was fine.

“Stunning views and animals everywhere”

We got lucky and saw 2 types of monkeys, a viper snake, toucan, macaw, sloth and lots of frogs. Didn't need a nature hike after this. Lots of walking and beautiful pictures
