This mountainside rainforest retreat is away from the town of La Fortuna. We stayed in a standard room on the second floor with a view of the volcano surrounded by lush treetops. The interior of the room is was top notch, looks better than the pictures and custom wood furniture throughout. Great hiking around the hotel and the scenery cannot be beat. Food was good but service a little slow at times. We anticipate returning to La Fortuna and staying here.

We picked this hotel based on reviews from trip advisor and it did not disappoint!
The staff was awesome and so willing to address any need we had. They went above and beyond in their help with directions and other very helpful tips for staying safe and enjoying our time in La Fortuna.
We had a rough day of travel to get to Lost Iguana, but when we did, we were some, eased with the room. The view of Arenal is amazing, plus, you're right in the middle of the rainforest. What's not to love?! Also, the shower in the bathroom was pretty awesome. Way, way beyond my expectation.
The hotel is 1/2 mile for the Hanging Bridges, so it was fun to walk over there and hike the trail. Quite lovely.

Room Tip: Try to get a second floor room--fantastic views of the volcano

We loved this place. Great rooms, food, people and location. All around excellent. Pool area is very nice too. extremely quiet, even though the gotel was sold out. We had a car. Easy drive from la fortuna and other area attractions. Much more of a jungle feeling than other places (because you are in the jungle, off the main strip of hotels). No hot spring on site, but there are plenty nearby (we went and were a bit disappointed in the got springs anyway after all the hype). The view from the room is breathtaking... Clear view of the volcano from the balcony framed by lush jungle landscapes. Sounds at night are very cool. Very close to hanging bridges - you can walk or they'll take you in the golf cart. Cant wait to go back.

We really enjoyed our stay at The Lost Iguana. Views to die for, amazing bird watching just from your balcony, lots to do around the location. We would go back! We heard howler monkeys but didn't see any. Did see Toucans plus a large variety of other birds. Very close to Lake Arenal.
We felt the restaurant was a bit "hit or miss" for service so had a couple of great meals in the bar/pool area.

Room Tip: The higher you go, the better the view of the volcano.

We just got back from Costa Rica, and Lost Iguana was a beautiful resort. Our 2nd floor room was very big with cool wood furniture, a jacuzzi on the balcony, and a fantastic view of Arenal volcano (when the clouds weren't covering it). We bought the romance package the resort offers, which included massages and a candlelit dinner, and wine. It was worth it. The included buffet breakfast was delicious. Lunch and dinner there was usually good, but pricey. The hibiscus maze is not worth the time. There's free wifi in the reception area, and the front-desk workers were always helpful and friendly. The resort is really close to the Hanging Bridges, which I recommend. You can book other tours through the hotel, although I had already booked tours through another company. We didn't use the pool at all, but it looks nice. I would go back to Lost Iguana. It was a beautiful resort and worth the money. It is far from town (La Fortuna), but everything we did included transportation from the hotel (although it was a bit more expensive, because the hotel is a good 20 minutes from town). We liked being at a more secluded place though!

Room Tip: I think the 2nd floor rooms have better views of the volcano. We had a luxury suite, and it was amazing!
