This wonderful and friendly lodge is beautifully situated within view of Turrialba Volcano and has a magnificent night view of Turrialba's city lights sparkling in th valley below. If you have a chance to arrange for a cooking lesson, do so. It is fun and your meal will be delicious! This is a good place to relax for several days and is within driving distance to Irazu Volcano, the Guayabo archaeological site, Cartago, CATIE and the Orosi Valley.

We stayed in a suite with a spectacular view from our bedroom window and balcony. The room was spacious and very private. We couldn't have asked for a friendlier atmosphere that far exceded all of our expectations. Our hosts were very hospitible and gracious to our entire group. We enjoyed a two nights stay where we enjoyed walks on the property, full of lovely surprises of flora and fauna. One night the owner and her staff gave us a cooking lesson where we were given the opportunity to have a hands on experience of preparing a traditional meal. We wouldn't hesitate to return to the Guayabo Lodge where we could relax and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere.

Room Tip: We stayed in a suite separate from the main lodge

We spent the night at Hotel Guayabo Lodge and loved our stay. Our room was spacious with an amazing view of the volcano. The service was amazing. Pedro and his staff went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. We especially enjoyed breakfast with fresh juice, melon, homemade bread and pineapple marmalade. We highly recommend this lodge and hope to return soon. The Donahues

Guayabo Lodge is a spectacular place and I'd highly recommend it to anyone! The views and countryside surrounding it are wonderful: waking up to an active volcano and birdsong daily. It was a very relaxing place to stay. The rooms are large, clean and comfortable while the lobby (lounge) is warm and inviting.

The owners and staff were excellent: very friendly, gracious and helpful. The food is delicious, with a great spread at the breakfast buffet and excellent a la carte or buffet service at night. I have to make special mention of the desserts, they are very more-ish!
