“You have to go in a sunny day!”
Reviewed July 30, 2013 via mobile

The views are really nice if you go in a sunny day if not you are not going to be able to see anything. And take a sweater even if is warm.

“Great sights”
Reviewed July 24, 2013

The volcano was all dried up so we didn't get to see it like it looks in the pictures with the water settling in the middle, however it was still cool. It was very foggy when we went so the fog kept sweeping through and leaving. There was lots of places to take good pictures and we even got to see some wild animals.

“High Altitude two ocean views”
Reviewed June 26, 2013

Its the perfect one day activity you can do from San Jose. Takes about 2 hours to get to the summit by car driving thru some great farms and micro climates. The higher you get the colder it gets almost close to zero celsius at the summit. On a clear day as I was lucky enough to have you can have magnificent views of both oceans Pacific and Atlantic from the highest point where all the TV and Radio Antennas area located. Take winter clothes to the summit even if it warm down in San Jose, it very windy and cold up there.

“fabuolous day trip”
Reviewed June 24, 2013

the trip to Cartago is colorful and short and the volcano is absolutely stunning and impressive! It is far different from the Poas volcano, and you'd best be served going to see BOTH if you have enough days in Costa Rica; the Poas is very lush and Irazu is quite barren and reminded me of the surface of the moon...remember you have to go early because these volcanos seem to get very foggy very early...but the view over the crater is just to die for & you look out & see the views of cities too & it's just impressive...but go to 2 volcanoes while in Costa Rica, this one & 1 other because you need to see the diversity

“Great place for night photography”
Reviewed May 19, 2013

I went to Volcan Irazú with a group of amateur and professional photographers for a late night shooting session looking for long expossision photos of stars and the city. With a little bit of luck the volvano is great place for this kind of photos. Just dont forget your hot coffe and jacket.
