We stayed here for 2 nights as part of a tour group. The surrounding gardens are absolutely stunning. Everything was in bloom and it was fun walking to breakfast at the restaurant seeing and hearing many different types of birds. The pool area was small but well maintained. I just wish the water wasn't so warm. It would have been nice to get into cool water to escape the heat for a bit. The rooms were clean. However there were no drawers and no counter space in the room or bathroom, I mean absolutely zero. The bathrooms were massive but just had a tiny sink. It wasn't a very good use of the space and if they modified the rooms just a bit, I would give this a 5 star rating based on location, cleanliness, the grounds and overall value.

This was a very average hotel in great location. I wouldn't spend more than $40-50 night here. The decor was dated. The hot tub was dirty. The staff is friendly. The breakfast and pool are good. I had an amazing time.

We stayed at Mountain Paradise hotel for three nights on a family vacation(our kids are 18 & 22). We had a 2BR Arenal Villa. It was perfect for us with a king bed in one room and 2 queens in the second room. Each room had an en-suite bathroom and there was a kitchen area in the middle. The kitchen was just counters and cabinets with a mini fridge and espresso machine and a bar with 3 stools. No sink or microwave. The master bath had a giant shower with a nice rainfall shower head and a separate waterfall shower feature and lots of plants. Very pretty. Our villa also had a private heated pool that we loved. One note about the room is that coffee pods are only provided for your first night. After that, they charge $1/cup. The main pool is very good and is heated pretty warm. There is a swim up bar also. We liked that. It was pretty rainy in mid May so be prepared with plenty of rain gear and extra shoes. We had to dry our hiking boots with the hair dryer.

Room tip: We loved the two bedroom Arenal villa for our family of four. View of the volcano!

We had a hard time deciding between staying at a hot spring hotel or here and we're so glad we chose Hotel Mountain Paradise. Our family of 5 had plenty of room to relax comfortably. The hotel has some wonderful touches that feel very Costa Rican. The staff was very nice and helpful. Our only regret is that we didn't stay longer.

The rooms are Awesome!! The grounds are immaculate and gorgeous! Beautiful views of the volcano. Only complaint on the rooms is they are very dark. Also, everything is built on steep hills and difficult to walk for some people Shuttles are provided but not always available. Breakfast buffet was the prettiest setting I've ever seen in all my travels, and the food was good. The pool area was beautiful, but drink service was slow when we were there. All in all, my favorite hotel from our whole tour.
