The property is absolutely beautiful. The pictures on the company website were obviously taken years ago and does not give the current layout its proper credit. The plants have now matured and provide a gorgeous landscape throughout the property. The buildings are almost hidden in all the vegetation providing a sense of privacy for each unit. The rooms themselves are spacious with a modern feel making for a very cozy environment. Each room comes with a covered patio with 2 wooden rockers. Ideal for sipping coffee or wine while watching all the hummingbirds fly back and forth. The restaurant was an open air building with a magnificent view of the volcano (when the clouds weren't covering it). Staff was friendly and attentive. The only down side for me was that the location might have been just a little too remote. This was only a minimal annoyance only because I enjoy walking when possible. The hills and distance to anywhere "off property" made this practically impossible forcing the use of either a taxi or rental car.

Room Tip: We had a room in the back of the complex and it seemed like we had the place to ourselves. Not too...

Our family of 4 shared a room. We had a giant bathroom, plenty of storage, and views directly outside the double slider to the Volcano. We also had a beautiful stream right outside. We had a short walk through the grass to get to the hot springs. There are two separate pool areas. It never felt crowded. I I felt as though I was in nature with all of the ameneties that I could ask for. Loved this place! The maid was very crafty with the linens and also incorporated my sons stuffed animals and flowers into her arrangements! This was a special place.

Our family of four stay in two rooms of the same duplex building. The rooms are spacious and have great view. From our room, we can see the volcano like a picture through the glass doors. There are two rocking chairs on the patio for every room. It is so relaxing just watching the cloud changing on top of the volcano. It is a good idea to buy some beer and chat with your friends or significant others in the night on the patio.

Our stay includes free breakfast. The restaurant is very beautiful and offers nice breakfast. The hotel staffs are generally nice and most of them speak english. The hotel is a little bit far from the downtown. Therefore, a lot of taxi dollars are used to go back and forth. I would rent a car and drive it here next time if I come again.

Room Tip: Room 201 and Room 202 have great/direct view of the volcano.

Arriving after sundown, it was difficult to realize the beauty that surrounded us. We ate a great buffet dinner, followed by a welcome dip in the lava heated pools that really were relaxing. With a swim-up bar, what more could you ask for? Well, sighting of the Arenal Volcano would be great. With all the clouds, it is sometimes hard to see the full volcano. All the meals at the Arenal Manoa were great---I think breakfast was the most enjoyable as you sit there and look toward the volcano and see all of God's glory---flora, fauna. Service was great. Rooms were utterly unbelievable---huge sliding glass doors with views of the volcano and all the plants; large bathroom area.

Room Tip: All rooms have the views. Shuttle service is available so it doesn't matter how close or how fa...

We stayed here in August and it was very nice. No crowds, rained in the late afternoon and at night. The hot spring pool was just the right temperature to help the aches and pains of the trips hiking and zip lining. Food was very good at the restaurant and the front desk was very helpful with the activities offsite. My grandson really enjoyed the farm tour because they let him milk a cow. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: I don't think there are any bad rooms as they all have a view of the volcano from the bed.

My family (2 adults & 2 teens) stayed at the Arenal Manoa for 3 nights in July 2013. The location is great - close to Fortuna town and also the various attractions in the area (Hanging Bridges, hot springs, etc.). The property is pretty & well maintained. Staff was very nice - especially the shuttle drivers which we used frequently as our room was at the back of the property and it rained heavily a couple times during our stay. Rooms were large enough - 2 double beds - and amenities (showers, TV, porch, etc.) were clean & functional. We could have used more lighting as the room was a bit dark w just a single overhead light and 2 smaller lights on far sides of the beds - was barely enough light to read a book. Pool was clean and well-maintained. Restaurant served nice buffet breakfast, decent lunch & dinner though selection was a bit limited (but enough for our brief stay). Overall, we'd stay here again.
