Arenal Manoa Hotel
Certificate of Excellence

The hotel offers a quality restaurant, a chill atmosphere, looming views of Volcan Arenal & it is a peaceful environment.

You will need transportation. However, it is central to zip lining, hiking & white river rafting.

Hotel is in a great location and rooms are very comfortable albeit they need some hanging space for wet clothes. We stayed for three nights and with children decided to eat in. On two separate evenings we had to send meals back as they were cold, on the second occasion we had waited an hour to be served. Asked to speak to a manager and were told that they had gone home as they had an early start the next day! The hotel is a fair way from other restaurant options so restaurant was busy but could not cope with the numbers. Also be aware of happy hours - we bought drinks during this time but received no discount. Breakfast good with buffet style although on second night scrambled egg was very rubbery! Hotel needs to employ a restaurant manager to take charge, many were complaining about long wait for dinner.
More positively the hot springs are fantastic and the rooms good with great bathrooms and comfortable beds.

We spent 3 Nights in the Arenal area July 2nd thru July 5th for our Honeymoon. The entire 7 night Vacation / Honeymoon between Arenal Area and the Guanacaste Area was AMAZING. The staff were extremely polite and courteous. The rooms were very clean, spacious and comfortable. We highly recommend this resort and plan on returning in the future. We have done a lot of traveling and I must say Costa Rica is now one of my favorite places to vacation. In the Arenal area the view of the Volcano is spectacular and the Rain Forrest is beautiful. So many different species of Animals just keep in mind it is the rainy season now and it will POUR in the afternoons, prepare for the Thunder as well, as it echoes thru the Mountains (Loved it, not complaining). Then Guanacaste on 50-60 miles also amazing and an entirely different climate, dry and hot!

My family just returned from 3 nights at the Manoa, and I loved it here. Beautiful setting, no pressure to do anything but relax on your porch. Love the setting, clean rooms with comfortable beds. Staff was very helpful making all arrangements. Food was excellent, a little pricey but very fresh and good. Mario the pool bartender was fabulous.

Our family recently stayed three nights at this beautiful hotel. Our room and bathroom were very spacious, comfortable and clean. (One suggestion we might make would be that the bathrooms need more towel bars or a line to dry wet swimsuits. With a family of four we really struggled trying to hang four wet towels, suits, etc.) The dining room, pools, spas and bars were all above our expectations and service was wonderful everywhere we went! The hotel even gave my daughter a complimentary mini-facial! We were really impressed with not only the amazing view of the volcano, but also the beauty of the grounds and the variety of flowers/plants, etc. Having Howler Monkey's on the grounds was an unexpected bonus! We will definitely recommend this hotel to others and would love to return ourselves!

I spent two nights at this property in an absolutely gorgeous room. Huge glass sliding doors gave us a direct view of the Arenal volcano. It was mesmerizing looking at the volcano appear and disappear with the changing mist and cloud cover. Beds were extremely comfortable and towel and blanket sculptures adorned the covers at evening turn down. The bathroom was huge and airy with an incredibly large walk in shower and lovely live plants in the planters. The grounds were beautifully landscaped and tropical. A short walk led you to a hot spring pool which was another treat. It too offered a tremendous view of the volcano. Both pools on the property have a wet bar, although the bartender is quite the slow drink mixer. The restaurant was a lengthy walk from our unit, but a pleasant one. We were told that we could call for a golf cart if we wished. Our only issue was that our sliding doors did not fully close. There was a wide gap that let in insects. We called the lobby and they immediately sent someone to rehang the doors. Very pleasant service with that, although the door still sported a slight gap when everything was said and done. I stayed in many lovely vacation spots in Costa Rica, but the Monoa was one of my absolute favorites.

Room Tip: We had room 20 which gave a direct view of the volcano. Request a room with an unobstructed view of...

Amazing hotel stay. The view was absolutely stunning- our room looked right at the Arenal volcano. The size of the room and bathrooms are big and spacious.
They have a great size pool with great drink prices and good food as well. The heated pool is AMAZING, as the water comes straight from the volcano. My husband and I decided not to do the hot springs just because this hotel had a natural heated pool which was less crowded and much more quaint than the hot springs some people traveled too.

Room Tip: Make sure to ask for a room that looks at the volcano.
