This was absolutely our favorite place in Costa Rica I believe. The grounds are stunning, the views are to die for, the breakfast is AMAZING, the staff is great it really has it all. The rooms are lovely too, but it's the amazing views of the volcanoes that do it. You are also really close to a huge amount of fun things to do in and around Arenal which is helpful. Keep in mind it's a bout $12 to ride into town however, and dinner at the Arenal restaurant is OK but nothing incredible and fairly overpriced -I'd head into town. Their breakfast is fantastic though, mixture of traditional Tico food and modern as well, all served buffett style. Really I have absolutely no complaints about here, it was perfection.

My family of four enjoyed our stay at Arenal Manoa Hotel. My wife enjoyed the spa and my kids had fun in the pool. There are activities nearby, like a waterfall, horseback riding, rafting, and canopy bridge tours.
The room had two queen beds, but not much else. The bathroom had a big bush in between the shower and the rest of the room which was different and cool in my opinion.
The restaurant is overpriced but breakfast was included. We spent about $120 for four of us to eat dinner there.
The grounds are beautiful and allow for some great photography.

Room Tip: Our room was right near the pool and restaurant but was still totally private due to all of the tree...

Our family just returned from a visit to the Arenal area and specifically from a wonderful stay at the Arenal Manoa Hotel and Spa. The grounds are so very beautiful, and well maintained. The rooms are clean comfortable, very nicely appointed and provide a view that is totally unbelievable. We had breakfast, lunch and dinner at the on sight restaurant and can only say we are very confused at the reviews that have negative comments. We found the food and the service to be excellent. The staff including waiters, housekeeping, and especially the front desk staff were ALWAYS attentive, polite, and down right happy to see and assist us at all times. My wife and daughter enjoyed a wonderful massage at the facility. Overall, I would find it difficult to say ANYTHING negative about our stay at the facility. We would highly recommend the Manoa to anyone wanting a pleasurable experience in the La Fortuna area.

Room Tip: The 200 range of rooms can not be beat for a view

Our family of 6 stayed here for just a couple days, and while the location was great, and the grounds were lovely, and the staff were kind and helpful, and the pools were nice, the hotel just left something to be desired. Our rooms were clean enough, but not very comfortable. Pretty small. We did enjoy the sliding back doors to the patio with rocking chairs and a view. Very nice. The food was just ok. The breakfast buffet was better than the dinner menu. I don't think I would come again, but it was alright for the short stay there. I didn't think we quite got our money's worth.

Room Tip: We were in rooms 128 and 129 (side by side), and the view (had the clouds left) would be wonderful...

Very happy with this as a base. The rooms are spread over a huge plot with two to a block. There is a great feeling of space and you aren't particularly aware of your neighbours. The pool and the restaurant have excellent views of the volcano (clouds permitting) as did our room. The grounds are so big that people whose rooms were near reception did drive to the restaurant / pool complex so it might be worth deciding if hot pools & reception should be closer than food & swimming pool. Whilst it is hardly cutting edge modern architecture the whole place does have a certain style and there is a lack of "chintz" that you do seem to come across here. Other than on the sound system at the pools of course. 70s MOR - what else?

We stayed at Manoa for 5 nights and I couldn't be more happy. The service and rooms were great and the views were amazing. We booked several different excursions through the hotel and they all went off without a hitch. Everything was so organized. Getting a cab to go into town was easy and safe. I have been to a few different places and Costa Rica is the only place I have felt safe enough to leave the resort. The cuisine was delicious everywhere we went including the hotel food. We ate in the hotel once but ended up venturing out the other days we were here. I can't say enough good things about this place. I will most definitely come back!!!

Room Tip: We stayed in 240 had an awesome view, but looks like most rooms had just as good views.

Our two-night stay at the Arenal Manoa was a delight. The property consists of charming two-unit units spread over lovely grounds. The rooms are spotless and seem to all have a great view of the volcano if the weather cooperates. The flowers, greenery and birds, as well as the spacing between the units, make for a lovely, peaceful atmosphere. This is not a loud, lovely resort but a peaceful place to relax after a day of hiking or exploring. There is a small traditional pool with a great bar and attentive bartender, as well as a hot pool fed by volcano-heated water. The breakfast is buffet-style with wonderful fresh fruit. Try the cheese; it is made at the "finca" or farm that is also owned by the family that runs the hotel. We found the service excellent... many thanks to Jorge and Natalia!
