The grounds of Kokoro alone were amazing. I traveled with a yoga group and we did yoga on their outdoors pavilion every day - the wildlife and greenery made it seem almost surreal. Ms. Peggy and Long were FANTASTIC. She did everything from recommending restaurants to booking excursions to suggesting remedies when we didn't feel our best. Long shuttled us back and forth between Kokoro and downtown La Fortuna countless time and made himself available whenever we wished to make the trek. Overall, I loved the experience of staying there. It was rustic and lush and homey all at the same time...and the fried plantains were delicious!

We stayed for 3 nights and from the moment we arrived the manager Peggy made us feel so very welcome and could not do enough to ensure our stay was good. I liked the fact that she recommended places to eat outside the hotel rather than just push her restaurant. Dinner was good and there was a good breakfast buffet. The rooms were a good size and had a fridge. The hotel has a nice pool and a hot spring which is available late afternoon . Nice gardens and many birds seen especially at breakfast time.

We had a wonderful time at Kororo. The property is absolutely beautiful and the staff (family-owned) are extremely knowledgeable, kind and helpful! The breakfasts were amazing too! The proximity to the volcano and the views from everywhere on the property are unmatched. We visited other hotels in the area and many were overdone, American-style with no character and no natural beauty. If you’re looking for a true Costa Rican experience close to nature and unspoilt, this is the place!

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights. Wonderful chalet with great views. The hotel manager, Peggy was particularly helpful in making sure our expectations were met.
Not as fancy as some other local hotels, but they certainly have a nice personal touch.

Lovely oriental family from Hong Kong own and manage the lodge. Everything is clean and tidy. The grounds are gorgeous. Our cabin was huge (sleeps 5) with a large bathroom. Relaxing porch to enjoy and view the volcano. There is AC if needed, but the weather was spring like so we used it rarely. Breakfast (included) was delicious and the staff made sure or vegan needs were met. There is a small, hot mineral spring right on the property as well as a large pool. Hot tea and coffee are available in the open lobby on a continuous basis - self-serve. Easy to travel to the lake and also into La Fortuna to dine. Fridge in the room.

Room tip: We loved #5 facing the volcano but I think most have a great view.
