This is our second stay here, the first was four years ago. I couldn't stand the thought of coming back to Costa Rica, and not staying here! This trip we travelled with my parents, and my sister and friend. Ages 50's to 80's.
Most of the time, a second visit somewhere isn't as great as you remember. Not the case here, we had an even better experience this time. The family visiting with us absolutely loved it as well and I got great kudos for booking us here. :) Everything was even better than I remembered it. The food, the service, the spa, and oh my God, the hot springs! They have put in so much work here, the hot springs have been expanded and they have several small hot spring pools now, in addition to the main pool they had on my first visit. The settings are intimate and beautiful, with several temperatures to chose from. They have even added a small farm; you can get up early and milk a cow if you want to. Young kids loved this!
The grounds are even more gorgeous if possible, but the biggest treat was the staff. We felt like we were leaving family. Diego, Umberto, Danny, Elio and Claret - loved you guys! You are so appreciated by all of us and you are missed. Thanks for making a wonderful trip even better.
The cabins are beautiful and very comfortable. It's nice to have your own space.
On my next trip back, I know I will stay here again. I can't fathom going anywhere else.

Room Tip: I don't know that you can go wrong here. If you need extra privacy, let them know. We were clo...

Stayed here in December 2013 for 3 nights and had a great time. Hot springs were delightful and refreshing. At breakfast the staff put out fresh fruit for the birds for us to view them. Breakfast was excellent but the evening meals could be improved. Overall I would recommend this hotel for a good stay at reasonable prices and good service.

We thought the rooms looked great online, and we requested the number 8 cabin for the best view of Arenal. We didn't realize we would have free access to more or less private hot spring pools! Just gorgeous and relaxing, I would love to go back.

Lovely hotel, the staff are all really helpful and friendly. We went and milked the cow one morning in their farm are which was great fun. The hot springs were even better than I expected and we used them every day of our stay. Towels are provided.

We loved everything about our stay here. Individual cottages meant no noisy neighbors. The accommodations were comfortable and very clean. Fluffy bathrobes were provided for after bath or after spa comfort. Most of the breakfast food was grown on the premises. The hot springs were a blessing after a day of hiking, as were the fabulous margaritas prepared by Herman and Jose. If you are looking for a peaceful, relaxing stay, I highly recommend El Silencio del Campo.

Room Tip: No bad rooms!

A wonderful place. The staff was outstanding--helpful and kind. The landscaping is lovely; the hot spring pools on the premises were quiet, relaxing, and uncrowded. We ate most of our meals there, but La Fortuna is a short $8 cab ride away if you want to try other restaurants.

We stayed here a few years ago and it was just fabulous. Frosty drink upon arrival, beautiful cabin complete with hot tub.

Accommodations weren't the most posh, nor were we expecting them to be. Beautiful landscaping all around. Private hot springs were awesome after hiking or rafting all day. They made the most amazing (and cheap!) homemade piña coladas. Will still go down as one of the best drinks I've ever had!

They also do spa treatments and we had an outdoor couples massage. I've had a lot of massages in my life, and this was a memorable one. Great masseuse, the sounds of the jungle. Just awesome! Highly recommend this place and love the individual cabins for some extra privacy!
